Unfortunately, I will be away on Saturday and really do not want to miss this ride, so I am also providing an alternate in the anticipation folks will be a tiny bit tired from Canada Day and opt for this flatter route instead:

congrats to Bubbles, Herc and Twad on the great showing at the Gagetown event.
Looks like a WET Monday

Durham Bridge is closed for the summer as of today as they are replacing it.

So Wednesday's route may have to be altered.

Radar looks pretty good for tonight. Anyone riding?

Mel said...

I am planning to ride if the road dries out. However, I may not be able to go the entire 78.6 K's so I may ride in from BC when we get there. Please cross the Westmorland Street bridge in case I am running late. Thanks.

Dish,

I was falsely under the impression that Durham Bridge was closing next week .. so was aiming for one last fling.

I'll send Turbo an alternate route for Wednesday.

Ironically, I just confirmed this morning that I am off to Dallas tomorrow, so I may not make the ride tonight and will miss the remainder of the week.

Typical BC, doh NB weather...I'm in!

Mel said...

I am running a bit late and the roads are not dry yet so I may simply go out later in the evening when it is dry. It is one of the longest days of the year, the other day I cycled until 9:15 when the wind died. Don't wait for me.

Here is a video of the conversation me and Eco had on Sunday...xtranormal has some more hilarious videos like this!....click on my name and give it a watch. Lots of good Telemark videos there too.

Crazy ride last night. Me and RJ and a whole lotta water. Still drying out this morning. The last hour was a torture test, just one pedal stroke after another. Seems like I've spent more time cleaning my bike in June than riding it.

Myself and Donut will be doing the Royal road / Burtts corner loop at 3:00 pm today. If anyone is interested meet at the church beside the fire station on Royal road at 3.

Hey , I have been stood up.
I work 'til 4pm and not likely able to be on the road 'til 5pm from the SS. I can wait for anyone else who would like to ride at that time
Of course Donut you this means war!:)

RJ said...

Absolutely right Jazz and thanks for enduring the conditions. We indeed had a difficult ride yesterday. It was looking promising when we left, but deteriorated rapidly about 1 hr in, but nonetheless we soldiered on to the finish. Today would have been better!

Donut said...

Sorry Rat, I have been invited to parents for dinner, wouldn't benn able to ride at 5.. Can't say no to Moma J's cooking..:) I'm sure you understand.

rat said...

Well OK then. You can still be my son (no jealousy from you Wad!).
Hope to ride Wed night as well as tonight then we are gone July to the 12th.

steve said...

Jazz, those videos are hillarious. I can relate to those conversations.

Bubbles and Rat:

I am leaving for New Hampshire tomorrow and will be coming back on the 4th. I believe you will be there on the 5th, so unfortunately we will not be able to ride together. Have a great time in NH next week.

Bubbles said...

Oh...the videos. This resembles conversations at our house as well, especially since Rat has become such a spiffy spandex guy. Oh the stories he tells about the climbs and hammering off the front! Stinky, hope you have a great trip as well. I am really looking forward to it.
See you all on July 10th.

Turbo said...

OK who was the smart ass that set up the camera at my house, for the making of that video.
Hmm Cookie knows where the key is?

Bang on Jazz, tks.

"I have seen your sprint....it is a f$cking joke. You go so slowly that it looks like you are going in slow motion in real time. You have never been able to get on top of your gears. It has always been a problem for you. Maybe you should worry less about your appearance and more about doing power intervals during training."

Ouch!

Nice ride last night around the Carriage Hill to New Maryland loop with Eco Girl before the rain set in. Our first "spousal" ride of the year was great!

Some may be happy to know that it appears my Blackberry was fried during that ride in the Tsunami with RJ on Monday night.

For those of you who watched the video, Jazz did not wear pink and blue lyyycra last night on our ride. He wore the team kit. And as for me, "I unleashed a large amount of power on him, I almost scared myself."

And FYI, we are spending less on a pool cleaner than on our bikes. Which is good since we too don't have a pool ;-)

It's Wed and it's ride night.
I assume people are going out but likely a diiferent route or modification thereof.
I'll be there.
Last group ride 'til the 10th

Turbo said...

nursing some back issues. plan to just try a short solo ride tonight and gauge the progress.
If all is well I'd like to ride tomorrow. not sure if I can make 0800. Have to fish trap, so game time decision.
PS- Not whining just saying :-)

Hey Rat and Bubbles

Have a great time cycling in NH.. Bubbles, I hope you made sure there is a pool where ever your staying. If all else fails, you still have your tan, and you know that'll get you things when and where you least expect it..:)

Rat and Bubs said...

Well got tied up at work with trauma so missed the ride.

Off tomorrow am, woohooo!

Turbo said...

Bonne Voyage, R&B. Hey Bubbles use the word FLAT as your new frustration outlet. Will have the octave, pinch, tone and decible levels perfected for when you actually have one and need to inform others.
Safe Travels.
PS- Mitch and I are doing a Thursday ride from my house @0830 best to call my cell 447-7701 if interest.

Thanks so see you today at 5:30, oh by the way Turbo, I was reading in my Runners World mag that big calves prevent shin splints so I guess I am safe from the injury

Bubbles and Rat:

I am not sure if you are checking the blog or not while you are away, but there are a few routes you have to do here in North Conway.

If you can manage it, hop on the Bear Notch Road, down the Kancamagus Hwy. If you are looking for a nice hill, go up Hurricane Mtn. Road (17% grade) and head up to Evan's Notch. You can make a loop out of that one. Or, head up to Hurrican Mt. and turn right and do a 40km loop back to North Conway.

Pick up a local map at any tourist information bureau and check out all of the nice loops. The kancamagus hwy to Lincoln is really nice.

There is some fantastic cycling here.
