If the weather is good, will anybody be riding tomorrow? If so, can you post?

If nobody is riding tomorrow, than I will just leave from home and ride qt 5:00. If I see a post that somebody is riding, than I will plan to take in my bike to work and wait until 5:30.

hi,

I'm an ElP student for UNB. I would like have information about your group and I would like to know if I can go riding with you. When re you riding, what is the average speed and how many kilometres do you usually do? You can answer me at andreanne_jacob@msn.com

That is what I call an athletic ride tonight! Good job everyone.

Rat: Thanks for looking over your shoulder to make sure I was still there!

Stinky said...

Thanks for the great ride tonight. I can't believe I am saying this, but the pace was reasonable. I am tired and will sleep well tonight. See you all on Friday.

To EIP student; (see below)
I would like to know if I can go riding with you.
ALL ARE WELCOMED TO JOIN US, MOST WEEKS RIDES ARE POSTED AT TOP OF THIS BLOG. MEETING PLACE IS A STEPPING STONE SENIORS CENTER ON SAUNDERS STREET.
When re you riding, what is the average speed and how many kilometres do you usually do?
THE AVERAGE SPEED VARIES AS THE ROUTES ARE SO DIFFERENT, THEY TELL US WE HAVE LOTS OF HILLS IN THIS AREA, "USUALLY" MONDAY RIDES ARE BRISK, BUT SOMEONE WILL STAY BACK WITH A SLOWER RIDER, AND WE WILL LOOP BACK. WEDNESDAY ARE "USUALLY" OUR HARD RIDE OF THE WEEK BUT AGAIN IT DEPENDS WHO ATTENDS.
FIRDAY IS OUR SOCIAL RIDE, PROBABLY BEST ONE FOR NEW RIDERS TO JOIN US ON. SAT OR SUN RIDES ARE NORMALLY LONGER RIDES AT REASONALBE PACE.
WEEKNIGHT RIDES ARE @60KM, WEEKEND RIDES ARE 70-90KM
HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hey folks. Needed 1 BBQ, can't pick up as have no truck/trailor so must be delivered.
Why?
Bubbles has planned a staff party at our home Wed june 9th, ie tommorow, and it has grown to numbers that only a mathematitian with a slide rule can determine. That is to say my manly-Q can't handle all of the food prep requirements. As you can guess by marriage I have to be there to cook so no Wed eve ride for me. Anyone out there that can help?

Mel said...

Tomorrow is a commuting day and I leave at 7:30 if anyone is interested. Rat: I have to stay late at the office tomorrow as an exception so if you are "picking me up" call in the afternoon.

Hello from windy Portsmouth.

Tomorrow I am placing an order for Garmin "GPS bits" (cadence sensor, etc.) from Prairie Geomatics Ltd for myself and Leah. If anyone else wishes to order a "bit" for their Garmin GPS, drop a note.

Hairpin said...

Hey, for those of you who might enjoy some mountain biking this weekend, there's a mountain fun event happening in Fredericton: the Woolastook 5. Click "Hairpin" for details. The course is in great shape, the weather should be lovely, and there will be music, a bbq, and lots of cool prizes. Early registration is open now on Atlantic Chip.

Turbo said...

Rat/Bubbles: call me 447-7701 if you haven't solved your BBQ dilemia.
My Barbie is old, and shows her age! If she can survive the trip your weclome to borrow. I'm off at 2pm and can run it over before the Wed ride. If you have another nicer model lined up i can transport if for you.
Just direct me

Regarding the Friday ride...how many Kms do you reckon that is? I have to do a long ride on Friday, and may do that for the remainder.

PS: Did the Mooseman Half Ironman on Sunday (new bike course, with 18% hill climbs which we had to do twice); I thought how nice it would have been to have Cookie push me up those headwalls. It was SPILLING rain the entire time. Last time I had that "just put me out of my misery" feeling was with a Southern Comfort Hangover, many years ago.

Turbo said...

I know it was a nice night to do alot of things. But it was a perfect night to Bike. Great Route Zorro!
Now you know how Firebird, always has the "nice stuff" We'll tonight he brought his cordless phone with him on the ride, What kind coverage does that Puppy have??? I'm just saying...

zorro said...

Great Wed ride: Turbo, Firebird and Zorro. Hills, Hills, and more Hills,
gotta love it!!! Turbo have good time on vacation.

Stinky said...

Is anybody up for a ride tonight? It will be a slow pace, but I would like to do hills. Let me clarify....I would NOT like to do hills, but I NEED to do hills.

Possibly Mt. Hope or something like that.

rat said...

Smoothy, can commute on Friday both ways if needed.
Will ride tonight but have to go by The Edge to get some shifting problems fixed and will likely leave from there at 530pm.

Donut said...

Hey Stinky and Rat, I missed out on lastnights ride, working.. so I'd be up for Mount Hope.. On days off now, just post what time your thinking and from where.. Sounds like lastnights route was a good one as well, according to Zoro.. HILLS :)

Stinky said...

Hey Donut

I can meet you at SS, but I may be a little late. Let's aim for 5:30.

Rat:

Will you two be riding with Radical Edge?

If not, why don't you join us at SS? We can wait for you if you are going to be late.

Donut said...

Sounds, see ya at SS for 530..

Donut said...

Sorry,meant to say sounds good..

rat said...

I will likely ride from the Edge with the Edge, if there is a ride.

You should come over as well and at least ride out with the group.

Team OSB, Bizarro (I don't know him as Zorro) and Kathy: Thanks for the Friday evening ride. I haven't ridden in a group that big in a few years. Nice to ride with cyclesquash and the crazy rat and the rest of you very polite riders; the last "fast" bit from Phillips to the end was enjoyably fast. The post ride beer was wonderful - thank you.

herc said...

great that you came out Pinky, it was good to see you.

today's ride was so great. 100km wow, who would have thought. Rat and Donut and Zorro were great at encouraging me to get up that last hill by the experiental farm. I was toast. But i did it. It takes a team. What a day, thanks to you all.

Donut said...

Awesome ride this morning guys, was glad when we finally made it to the FEED Zone, was starting to panic when I heard somebody say the word closed..haha.. Great job today there Herc. Thanks again Zorro for a great week of rides...

Mel said...

You have to like the ride today. With the weather, wind, road, riders, it was the easiest & best 100 K ever! Plus, when I got home, I think it is my chain that causes that annoying click in the drivetrain (I put on my old one). Lesson learned, "Ride the route, ride the route...." sorry about that, Rat, I wasn't thinking.

Stinky said...

It sounds like I missed a great ride today.

Is anybody up for a ride tomorrow? I can only leave at 1:00. Plus, the weather is supposed to be better in the afternoon.

Herc said...

call me crazy and not sure how good I would even be able to ride today...how long of a ride were you thinking Stinky? I might be able to go after church

Stinky said...

Herc:

I was looking at 100km. My schedule has changed, so I can go earlier as well. What do you think?

Stinky said...

Herc:

I just checked the hourly forecast and I will leave earlier. It is supposed to start raining around 2:00 or 3:00, so I am going to leave between 10:00 and 10:30.

Can you join me? It would be awesome to have company.

herc said...

Hi Stinky, I am going to have to pass on this one, it's just not going to work out today, really sorry, sure would love to go

turbo said...

Week of Smoothy;
June 14-20th

Monday: 5:30 SS: Mazerolle Settlement Loop. Out old TC to Mazerolle Settlement Rd back via Hanwell, Deerwood and old TC. Hour to hour weather forecast shows showers in the afternoon but clearing around 5:00. If it is raining perhaps we will have to delay the take off by half an hour if the roads are wet. If so, we can ride a shorter route.

Wednesday morning EXPRESS COMMUTE: The first and annual (or not) Express Commute. We meet on Union Street at McLean’s Sports at the regular time of 7:35, ride slowly to the Ramada Inn. From there to Oromocto the goal is to get me to work as quickly as possible!! Everyone present takes pulls, length depending upon strength, however, nobody gets dropped, especially not me!! It will be like a practise in case one day I am late for work! If you have never commuted before Wednesday is the day. Everyone is invited, OSB or not, especially if you have a big engine! Coffee and muffins at MacDonald’s as usual.

Wednesday: 5:30 SS: Rusagonis Loop. York Street, New Maryland, Nasonworth, Route 655 to Nevers Road. Look for me at the Irving (you never know, I maybe on my way home). Lincoln Road back to F’ton.

Friday: 5:30 Leaving from 434 Broad Street: (Park on Staples Ct.) Burton Loop clockwise. Look for me coming home from work in Maugerville. I am not sure yet whether I will join you or not, it depends on a few factors. Ride finishes at my house for a Friday night social. Watermelon, Burgers, Chips & Beer.

Saturday Ride: This is something I have always wanted to do. Ride along the river but start at Nackawick! Since the 4 lane, the old Route 2 is essentially traffic free above King’s Landing. The ride begins at 8:00 a.m. from the old Irving Gas Station just off the highway at Nackawick. Organize your own transportation to get there, driving time is half an hour. We will ride to Woodstock on the west side of the river, coffee and waffles at Fusion Cafe, great coffee and pancakes! Then we ride back to Nackawick via 105 on the west side of the river. Each leg is 50 K’s for a total of 100 for the day, right along the river!

Omni said...

Smoothy,

Just an FYI ... the "Old Irving gas station" by the Nackawick bridge is now a big empty space ...
