For tonight's ride, I will not go to the SS, but I will meet you along the ride. I will ride McLeod Hill alone and meet you on the other side, by the stone bridge. (On Royal Rd.)

Hopefully people plan on riding tonight.

I too will leave from my house on the N-Side and meet at the foot of the Kingsley Road.

Sounds good stinky and A-Bob will see you there.

Marisa and I are vacationing in Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park in Maine. Great cycling here, even worth the trip just for that. We cycled the Carriage Roads. Imagine our trail system with gradual up and downs, winding around lakes, streams, mountains, really cool. No cars on these, (of course), going to do more tomorrow. With all of this, no commuting until further notice. Of course, you can do it yourself. See you all when I get back, wish you were here.

Personally, I think CAA created this for Cookie (heh heh)...clink on my name to find out more.

CAA Bike Assist

As Ontarians make a shift towards a greener lifestyle and with more and more commuters using their bicycles as their main mode of transportation, we're introducing CAA Bike Assist, roadside assistance for your bicylcle. If you run into a problem that cannot be fixed on the spot, CAA will transport you and your bicycle to wherever* you need to go. It's available as part of your membership 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Members will not have to pay extra to be eligible for Bike Assist as it will now be a new permanent benefit for existing Members!

Planning to head out for a ride this afternoon, going to do the Hunter Rd loop, via Carriage Hill, Hanwell to Hunter and returning on the Old TCH.. Will swing by the SS at 1:00.. Last minute I know, was waiting on the weather..

Jazz,

Actually, AAA, and its following puppy, CAA, are simply copying their much more sustainably aware competition Better World Club.

Unlike AAA & CAA, Better World Club does not lobby against bicycles and other forms of transportation. Too bad its not available in Canada.

Omni said...

Jazz,

I stand corrected, Better World Club is now available in Canada. I have sent them an e-mail to learn the scope of their coverage.

Jurgen:

It sounds like so much fun, but my niece's birthday party (she is 3) is on Saturday at 11:00. They would disown me if I don't show up. Plus, there will be lots of cake there that I can't refuse.

Next time.

Hi Jurgen, I'll be out of town this Saturday. Thanks to you and Janice for hosting! Wish I could have made it with Sonya aka Eco and the kids. Have fun!

Impressed by those who rode last night! Assume someone was hauling a water trailer?

Can anybody take a day off work next week and come play with Stinky?

I am looking at doing the Gagetown Loop. If I do it alone, I am certain to get lost, so a fellow biker would be awesome. You know, I get lost doing the Mactaquac loop, so who knows what would happen to me trying to navigate the Gagetown loop.

Any day next week can work for me. Although, you must have good navigational skills to come along. :)

Donut said...

Hey Stinky,

Not sure what day next week you would like to ride, but if it were Tuesday morning, myself and Deb Stafford would join you.. I did this route last year with Zorro, so I think I can get us there and back..

You HAVE TO watch this video for today's laugh (click my name). First, close your eyes, picture Turbo with blonde hair & glasses & Rat as other dude, and then watch it. Bubbles, this is obviously how OSB members to approach next year's team kit 'styling' ;-)

Donut:

We can definitely make the Gagetown loop a Tuesday ride, if the weather is good. We can make plans on Monday. I would like to leave as early as possible, if that is good with you and Deb.

Due to my poor navigational skills, I will put the route on a Garmin. That way we can be sure that we won't end up in Nova Scotia or somewhere else. Not that I don't trust that you can get us there and back. :)

Omni said...

Donut,

Don't fall for the "poor navigational skills" line ... it's just an excuse to draft all day!!

I bought that line once, and pulled her all the way to Wellsford ;)

Stinky said...

Hey Omni:

Now that is not fair. For the record, on that ride to Welsford I pulled for at least 5km. :)

Hey All!

Just wanted to say thanks for the cycling help so far this season. I raced last weekend and had a great ride, no doubt in part thanks to the tips and tricks I've been picking up from all of you. All's well in Montreal. Looking forward being back in August!

Leah (in the 48 degrees with humidity heat wave...)

Gagetown Gang,

I can ride on Tuesday morning assuming we leave at 0800-0900 as I have to work at 5pm. I know the route. Bubbles is looking at her schedule to see if she can make it.
Only thing to decide is the direction. It is about 125+/-.

Work Monday at 1pm so out for a ride in the am about 0730-0830.

Stinky said...

Hey Rat and Bubbles:

Welcome back from your vacation. I hope you had a great time in NH.

I think you may be mixing up the route. The route we are doing is only about 106kms. It starts in the Village of Gagetown. We will be driving from Fredericton to Gagetown around 8:00ish, but that has not been confirmed.

Turbo, what are your plans for Tuesday? So far, Deb, Donut and I are planning to drive together. We are waiting to hear from you to finalize the time and carpooling. Our plan is to leave Fredericton at 8:00, but we do not know if that works for you.

Turbo said...

Gagetown Gang: I have to see what's up with work/weather tomorrow. I can't commit until Monday @3pm. Tuesday 0800 would work if I go. I will contact you to confirm and can drive 3 people 3 bikes.
Anyway
