Hi folks! Great ride on Sat. Are we still riding this afternoon given the (risky) weather?

Would anybody like to ride tomorrow morning? I plan to leave at 9:00 and do about 80kms.

If it stays dry (and radar says it most likely will), I will swing by SS at 5:30 to ride. r

Great riding tonight, Leah! (Firebird & Zorro too).

Commute for the week, what is on O' Smooth one?
I can make them all.
Ride today out by the airport doesn't look any work on that end butt could be going at it from the end closer to Oromocto.

I am in for the commute as well but I have to be back for 10:30, so I may just return the same way.

I can handle that Stinky.
I am assuming that we still need to meet at the UNB gate as there is road work from the Ramada out 5k. You can just whip down Gibson cross the walking bridge up to UNB. for 0740.

I am anxious to commute tomorrow morning. Let's meet at UNB gates at 7:40 as we have done the last few times. See you there, Rat, Stinky, anyone else??? The weather looks great for all week!

Hey guys,

Coming up next weekend (the day after the ride'n ribs) I'll be organizing this years Hadley Challenge point to point mountain bike race out in Penniac. It starts at Marysville Place at 11am on Aug 22 and goes through some single track and double track all the way to the Hadley's house on Mt. Hope. There will be draw prizes, medals, free BBQ and a free Picaroons keg for all participants and volunteers. We'd love to get some OSB participation out there for sure. If you're unable to race but would like to volunteer at a local cycling event, please email me at adam.douthwright@rogers.com. We still need around 4-6 people to donate some time to help us out. You can get more details at www.hadleychallenge.com as well.

In for Wednesday night ride. Durham sounds great.

Smoothy,

is the paving done?
I'll be there for 0740 pending dry roads and no rain.

Come on all you sleepy heads, come out for a ride Thursday and or Friday with the Smooth man on equally smooth pavement

Mel said...

I was hoping to report that the pavement is 100% done. On the way out to Oromocto it was completely done when I returned at 5:00, however, the other side of the road where I return was not finished when I passed. Fortunately, it was very close to finished. Essentially, it is a minor inconvenience for a longtime gain. We are very lucky for the roads we have, if we live long enough, they will all be smooth, this has been a big improvement. Has anyone driven on the Maugerville side? I will get a road report tomorrow and post it in the blog. I'll be at the UNB gates at 7:40 tomorrow, wake up early for a ride, a great way to start your day!!

Thanks to Turbo and Zorro for the very challenging ride to Durham AND BACK tonight. Sorry for some inconsistencies along the way!

How about Dam,K-ridge, Kee, Tripp,105, for fri 530pm ride?
Any Takers?

Zorro, I am in for Friday. Sounds like a good route.

Mel, I will try and join you for the commute tomorrow, but I can't confirm. I am tired from a hard day of climbing today, so I am not sure if I will be in shape to ride tomorrow morning.

I am assuming you will be meeting at the UNB gates. If I am not there at the scheduled time, it means I wimped out.

Mel said...

Don't wimp out. Rat & Turbo will be there, you will make four, an all time high for the year. If anyone else can make it that would be great! Firebird, I know you don't work Fridays, we meet at the UNB gates. The road to work on the south side is all paved, I don't know about Maugerville. I am looking for a record, free coffee for all who come!

Marisa and I are traveling to Tracadie tomorrow so I will be riding to Boisetown and she will pick me up with the car. If anyone wants to join this ride to Boiestown, give me a call. Of course, you'll have to get back on your own. 60K each way. Mark, are you going to Bathurst for the weekend??

On another issue, I plan to ride the Cabot Trail on Labor Day Weekend. Here's the link if you're interested.

Let me know if you have any intentions of going, let me know. It is a great ride, you should do it at least once in your life.

Note: Start time for zorro and turbo is 730am on Sat from SS all welcome.

What is the route for tomorrow am?

Mel said...

Route suggestion,,,,,ride out to Durham Bridge with me, do the loop and I carry on to Boiestown. Gotta let me know if this is the route. Just a suggestion!

Stinky said...

I am thinking about doing the Cabot Trail on the Labor Day weekend, but I can't confirm until the middle of next week.

It would be fun if more OSB'ers could join Mel and I. Friends of mine did it years ago and had a blast. Who else can make it?

Is anybody up for a long ride on Monday? I plan on doing 130kms. I am driving down to Springfield, near Hatfield Pt. I will be leaving Fredericton at 8:00. Possibly back around 4:00ish. It all depends.

The route I want to do is through Bloomfield, Hampton, the Kingston Peninsula and back up to Springfield.

It is supposed to be a BEAUTIFUL ride.

So I rode to Boisetown (on my own) but I was pleasantly surprised to find no construction along the Nashwaak! I rode to Killarny Lake, up the hill, down to the gas station. From there out to Tay Creek, the road is all repaired, smooth and a reasonable shoulder. This route, along the river is beautiful and worth the trip! It will be even better when the bypass opens. Until then, early mornings with less traffic make it a definite route to do. Try it out.
