Burgers & Beer Friday...please let me know how many you plan to drink (kind) and eat.

I am pretty sure I can make it, I'll confirm tomorrow what is your address? Is anyone planning to join the Radical Edge ride tomorrow?

Bubbles - Sorry I missed your call. Lunch took longer than I thought. I only arrived home at 3:15 and left towards Mazorelle Settlement, but obviously did not meet up with you.

Thanks for the message. BTW, what is your home number? You did not leave it with your message.

Ally - I am joining the Radical Edge, but only to try
out the cervelos. Plus, I might arrive late. Might see you there. Great job with your triathlon today. Way to go.

No problem Stinky. We headed out the Hanwell and it started to rain. Of course, Rat thought he might melt, and had a meltdown. He turned (aparently) when I was pulling (I do that so frequently that I didn't realize he wasn't there) so halfway across Mazzerole I realized I was alone. I continued in the new highway back home (about 32K) and then ran. Wish we had connected.

I plan to ride from the SS tomorrow night. Good luck with the Cervelo. If you want I can send "Bubbles" with Rat because he is trying a bike too, and you can take her home for a few days to try. Our number 450-9217.

That would be great. I would love to ride Bubbles.
No Doubt - get your mind out of the gutter.... :)

You need to slow down when pulling. Rat could not keep up and turned around. I bet he tried to yell out to you, but unfortunately you were too far ahead to hear anything.

I am sure the rain was an excuse for his inability to keep up your overwhelming pace. :)

Hey Firebird:

I will be there. I don't drink, and I eat anything. When it comes to food, I am not picky.

La Grande-Motte, France (Sports Network) - Great Britain's Mark Cavendish outsprinted Norway's Thor Hushovd to the wire to capture Stage 3 of the 2009 Tour de France, while American Lance Armstrong moved up to third overall in cycling's most prestigious event.

Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland maintained the overall lead, finishing in the lead group with Armstrong -- the seven-time champion who moved up seven spots in the overall standings from 10th. Armstrong is still 40 seconds behind Cancellara, while Germany's Tony Martin is second overall -- 33 seconds behind the leader.

Cancellara was sixth in Monday's stage, while Martin was 15th and Armstrong 19th. The top 25 riders all finished with the same time as the stage winner.

Cavendish completed Monday's 196.5-kilometer journey from Marseille to La Grande-Motte along the Mediterranean Sea in a time of five hours, one minute and 24 seconds, capturing his second stage win of the 2009 Tour. He also won Sunday's second stage and now has six career Tour de France stage victories.

Hushovd tried to make a move on the outside in the final kilometer but couldn't catch Cavendish and finished just behind in second.

Cancellara, Martin and Armstrong stayed away from the final sprint but remained close enough to complete the stage with the same time.

Spain's Alberto Contador, the 2007 Tour de France winner and Armstrong's Astana teammate, finished 49th on Monday and was 41 seconds off the lead pack. He dropped from second to fourth overall, 59 seconds behind Cancellara.

American Levi Leipheimer, also part of the Astana team, is 10th overall and trails by 1:11.

Tuesday's stage is 39-kilometer team time trial in Montpellier.

Stinky, I will be there on Friday for the ride. Bubbles is going to pick me up and go to Firebirds house and I am staying for the bbq, you are more than welcome to take my bike for a spin

Woody said...

So how many new Cervelos are we going to have for the Friday ride?

Firebird - I'm planning to be there.

Woody said...

Fridays stage in the tour should be a pretty good one. It's a mountain top finish and I would guess that Contador or Lance are likely to end up in yellow. Any chance that someone could get it taped and perhaps Firebird would allow us tour junkies to watch.

Looks like I'll be at JG's for Friday night and I think Mrs. Jazz will pop over for social call as well.
Jazz - back from the Rock

Mel, any morning commute?

Jamey said...

Wanted to say thanks to JG, Leroy, Mitch, and Brian(?) for the ride on Wednesday night. Have not been on the bike much this year and was riding my single speed. Not easy to keep up - in fact it was impossible. The amazing thing - they waited for me! Not once but twice. Most decent.
I thought you would catch me after Mitch's flat. Hope that worked out OK.
Cheers,
Jamey S.
