Although not all of us are riding from Woodstock to F'ton on Tuesday, there is apparently a rally at the Sears store at the Regent Mall at noon, (free lunch?). It would be cool to see some of you there if you have the time. Many thanks to those who sponsored us in this ride, it will make it easy for us to ride knowing that we have your support. Team OSB is the second highest fundraising team in the country thanks to you.

Suds and I are looking forward to joining the ride for the last section (20 to 40 km, depending on the route). See you on the road - at least for a short while- and then back at Sears!

Tomorrow is our Cancer ride from Woodstock to F'ton. There is supposed to be a rally at the Sears at the mall around noon when we arrive there. If you are not riding try to make it to the mall, it would be really cool to see you there! Thanks to everyone who supported us in this cause.

Best of luck to Adam and Justin as they venture off to Nationals.
Enjoy the experience, just after the pain.

Our ride was short, wet and worth it... waited at Sears as long as we could for everyone else, but had to be some were. There was no were else in the world I would have rather been than riding in the rain with my best friend.

TEAM OSB (Cancer Ride) was for me a memorable day. from the anxious drive up, meeting the National riders, Hearing Smoothie tell the event who we are and why we ride today. Trudging through the weather, hearing other peoples stories, greeter's along the way.
and my pride with OSB and my teammates
But the kicker was listening to the young Boy in Nackawic. "Connor" thank us for fighting Cancer and feeling the (love, pride, sorrow and hope) as his mother hugged him.
Great Day to Ride your Bike!!!!

Day 11 and at home in NB
Today, it was pouring rain on our ride to Fredericton and the wind was blowing against us, again, for most of the way but none of that mattered because I was in my home province. Also, I received incredible moral support from Woodstock to Salisbury. In Woodstock, the Old Scared Bikers (OSB) were present, as they had told me before the start of the ride, to ride with us to Fredericton as part of the ride along event. All the way, they offered me encouragement and support, not only to me but to my teamates. Our leader Keith, who had not had much relief from riding the front of the peleton to pull us trough the wind since Vancouver was offered relief by this strong group of riders. Also, as a team, they raised $5000 for the cause of childhood cancer. So I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their participation, their generous contribution, their encouragements and also for taking a day off work to come ride with us in this not so pleasant weather. The same goes for Kevin Shiell from Grand Falls who also took the day to be a tour Marshall for the ride along event and who stayed with us all the way and volunteered to be the lead car and show us the best routes to the Sears store in Fredericton. Thanks to all my friends and family who were at the Sears store in Fredericton and in Salisbury…you have no idea how great it was to see your warm familiar faces welcome me home. Thanks to those who came to the Sears store in Fredericton for the time I had indicated but had to leave…don’t worry, I heard about everyone of you that was present and I truly appreciate it and I apologize for being so late but we had quite a few unpredictables on the road. One of them was our stop to Nackawic where they welcomed us by escorting us trough town with firetruck and RCMP and a little boy affected by cancer came to talk to us to thank us for what we are doing. The town of Nackawic also offered a donation. It was important to spend some time with those incredible people. Thanks to David Alward who took the time from his incredibly busy schedule to try to come see me off in Woodstock but found another teem and then waited for me again at noon at the Sears store in Fredericton. I have not been able to see the comments on my blog from my BB and someone just mentioned to me last night that you had asked where and when I’d be in the Valley…but I did receive the message in both places that you were there and I truly thank you for your support. It really shows what kind of person you are. I also want to thank Jocelyn and all the employees at the Sears store in Fredericton for their warm welcome. But, the best thrill of the day for me was to have Stewart Fraser ride with team 2 into Salisbury!! That made my trip…thanks Stewart for riding with us… Monique

How are you feeling anyway? Give us an update! I've been there!

Smoothie,
Its been a pretty long week! Woke up Saturday with lots of pains, went into emergency Saturday morning and found out I had a 7mm kidney stone! Got released with the plan to have it removed Wednesday! Went back to emergency 2am Sunday and had the kidney stone removed by laser by mid afternoon. Had some complications during surgery and had a stent placed. Hoping to have it removed in the next two weeks. It is causing alot of discomfort and muscle spasms!
I am sure in a couple of weeks I will be back to normal, or something close to, again. I think I would rather give birth! All the doctors were great and very helpful. A special thanks to Mike for all your help.

Mayo, hope your feeling better soon! We had a great ride on Tuesday (although it was a bit damp)and missed you. Planning to ride tonight as long as the rain holds off..although rain doesn't seem as much of an issue these days. Somehow it doesn't seem so bad when your riding with your friends! Thanks so much to Smoothey for organizing OSB's involvment in the ride and pushing us to raise money. Each time I check the site, there are more donations!!

Just looking at the Blog from last week and noted Turbo's post about ordering more kits. Just thought I'd say that I find the women's bib shorts are very comfortable. The most comfortable shorts I have, so would recommend them to any of the girls (or guys if they want a change)

Any plans for a ride in the morning? i realize the forecast doesn't look promising but it would be nice to squeeze in at least 30-40k.

Might be up for something around 9am if the weather is ok in the morning. Got a bit of a cold coming on, so I'll see how I feel and check the blog in the morning.

Any interest in an easy 40 k at 9:00 from SS as long as it doesn't start raining?
