Hey Smoothie!

What are your departure times the next 2 weeks for possible commutes.

Tomorrow am if the weather is dry and after the hammerfest tonight,if I am walking, I hope to be there. Give me a 2-3 minute grace period.

Rat,

I too shall be out for a commute ... and my fifth ride since June ... this week (Wednesday morning).

For Friday's ride, you can rsvp to adam.douthwright@rogers.com and departure time can be pushed to 5:45pm to leave time for people to make it out to NM. MapMyRide says the posted route is about 45km. We can add an extra loop on for more mileage if needed.

Omni,

Well I had my own Commute without Smoothy this am. Stopped and bought myself a coffee and muffin.

I am also doing some home repairs and my back is killing me this am soo I am opting not to commutte in the am. Sorry. We certainly did have some great commutes 2 summers ago when you were omni.

Rat:
Sorry about your back. Sorry I missed you this morning. I will be going by the Irving tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 7:30 (I have to be at the office early). Essentially, every Tues, Wed, and Friday's I pass the Irving at 7:45 if anyone wants to join me, it's a great time to ride. Free coffee to first time commuters!

Smoothie,

The time for the connection at the Irving is better than I had on Tues morn. I was there at 715!
For the forst time commuters is that first time ever or first time for the year?

Will be out tonight Wed.

I'm definitely in for the Tour de Grand Lake 2008, and very happy that it's ON this year, it's 5th year. When I first did this ride in 2004, I had never heard of the Breast Cancer Information Partnership, or the Purple Violet Kit that they are responsible for. Little did I know that 4 months later, along with my diagnosis of breast cancer, I would be handed my own kit. I can't tell you how much I relied on the comprehensive, up to date information on breast cancer which helped me make decisions on my treatment - and I'm a doctor! It wasn't long after my chemo was done in 2005 that I rode the Tour de Grand Lake for the second time. I haven't missed a year since. The swim/BBQ/party/prizes afterwards were incredible. Those of you that have been already know.

Mountain biking, anyone?
There's going to be a group MTB Ride Sunday at the tree farm in Silverwood/Island View. If you've never ridden those trails before, they're really fun - mostly flowy and not too technical, with a fair number of short ups and downs. I'd expect that there will be some people riding very fast, and others taking a more leisurely approach. We'll try to have someone at each end who knows the trails, but anyway the ride is more or less a point-to-point so it's not very easy to get lost.

Meet at Andrew A's house - 11 Idlewood Drive - to begin riding at 10 am. To get there, go out the Woodstock Road, then west on the old highway to Valley Ridge Furniture. Take the first left immediately after Valley Right onto Friesen Drive. Go up Freisen (it winds a bit and turns into Old Mill Road partway up) to the top of the hill and a bit further – about 1 km total from the highway – until you see Macintosh Dr on your left. Turn left on Macintosh and go 200m to where it connects to Idlewood. Andrew’s is the yellow house right in front of you.

Bring friends if you like. Hope to see you there! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions. MurrayKL at hotmail dot com

No Doubt and anyone else for that matter, are you trying a commute with smoothy in the am ie Friday. I will if it is not raining or too wet as it will be cold.

Blog tonight or in tha am. I will have to leave my home in NM at 715 to make it 745 at the Irving.

Rat:
I am going to Ottawa tomorrow morning to take my daughter to Carleton so don't look for me at the Irving. How about Tuesday??

Just a reminder that Friday night's ride is leaving from 26 Bradley Ave. (New Maryland) not the Y. We will be rolling out at 5:45 to give everyone time to get here. The ride can be the posted loop at 45k or we can add the Nevers rd. loop to bring it up to 60k. Group decides.

We had a great ride. We crossed at the Ferry in Gagetown, dropped Adam in Jemseg (I use that term loosely:) and then headed back on our own. We had alot of wind coming up the river but it was all good. Rat didn't bonk which was a nice change. Ended up with 127 km at a solid pace. Glad you guys had a good one too.

Welcome Texas-Iron to OSB.

Fantastic ride out to Burtt's Corner this AM. Civilized Pace, great company. Good Food. Lots a Laughs.

The Evil has Landed.

The best thing about OSB...something for everyone! I think that is a good thing.

PS. Who has been dubbed Texas Iron? Neat name.
