Darlene and Turbo, in for the Sept 25th. festivities. What your house address and what can we bring.

Stinky said...

Turbo, did you get my changes for Friday? Sorry but I had another idea for Friday.

We will have home-made baked beans (for Herc), pulled pork, pickles, coleslaw and chips. I will post directions this week.

I am in for Mon 530SS.

Look for me on the walking bridge.

Just thought you'd like to know. Tonight we road with a guy, Richie, visiting F'ton from Minnesota (I think). We stopped with him to repair his flat. He couldn't say nicer things about F'ton, he has been REALLY impressed during his couple of weeks here (he is doing something for Irving). I always think it is nice to hear someone say something nice about where I live. He claims to have traveled all over and finds F'ton super. I like the guy already! (Plus, I think he liked his ride with us tonight)

Rich said...

Rich says . . . Yup . . . all true. You guys and gals have a great city! I can honestly say, it is one of the finest cities I have ever visited, and I have traveled quite a lot.
Thanks for letting me tag along, and thanks for waiting as I repaired my flat . . . funny, only 3 flats all year, 2 in Fton (no worries, I still kinda like the place). I'm around all week . . . look for me to show up somewhere!
Cheers . . . oh yeah . . . I DID like the ride!
You can take a look at our site at
www.DuluthRoadCyclists.blogspot.com
I'm not as clever as you guys, I mostly am reduced to taking photos and making up a story later . . .

Tracey and I will be there for the Pork Pull. We'll bring a salad (and LOTS of booze)

I am bursting, have to share this with you all. I became Nana Herc last night at 10:04. My little granddaughter, Kallie Evan born 8lbs 7oz. Everyone is doing great. My son is still shellshocked, but doing fine.

Stinky said...

That is awesome news Nana Herc. I am so happy for you and your family. I love her name.

Congrats Herc! will check the smallest Kit size available.

Commuting is still on. Should I look for anyone at McLean's Sports tomorrow morning?

rat said...

Hey Smoothy,

Weather permitting I will be there at 0735. Will hit The Mark on the commute while you are with me.
Will check the weather in the am. As usual if raining , imminent threat or very wet roads won't be there.

Mel said...

Rat:
See you in the a.m.

Donut said...

Congrats Herc to you and your family..

Great commute this am as always Smoothy.

leah said...

can't ride tonight, but would like to commute tomorrow. when and where's the meeting point smoothie?

Brian at the Edge asked me to send along a note to all local cyclists…Oakley has got some big “caravan” coming into the Edge today and of course, to make this worth doing again, they’d love to get a huge turnout from local area cyclists.

Apparently some great prizes being given away as it’s a “one of a kind” happening…

From 2 until 7…make it if you can!

Mel said...

We meet to commute on Union Street, at the corner with McLean's Sports take the first ramp off the bridge. Meeting time is 7:35 a.m. sharp, anyone else??

rat said...

I am in as mentioned Smoothy

leah said...

I heart the morning commute. my toes - not so much.

Mel said...

I don't understand?

Stinky said...

Yikes, the weather is not looking so good for Friday and Saturday. Hopefully it improves.

Although I don`t plan on riding in the rain, the social is still on.
Rain or shine, you can show up at our place around 5ish.

Rob and I are excited to host the Pork Pull. He is cooking as I write this.

Directions:

We live at 225 Mataya. It is on the corner of Shallon and Mataya in Pepper Creek (The capital of the swingers community).

1 - Drive to Greenwood Drive. (Cannons Cross is on Greenwood)

2 - Continue up Greenwood until
you reach a set of lights.

3. Go through the set of lights and head towards Noonan. We do not live that far.

4. On your right you will see the Pepper Creek Plaza. Take a right onto rockwood which is located immediately after the plaza.

5. Drive all the way down rockwood. Take a left onto Shallon.

6. Drive about 1km on Shallon. You will pass Rolling Hills. Continue onto Shallon until you get to Mataya.

7. Our house is the little green one on the corner of Shallon and Mataya. On the right.

8. We are the only house with a brown lot and a park behind it.

rat said...

Hey Stinky,
You forgot one last directional tidbit:

9. The only house without a star if you get lost.

BUbbles said...

Unfortunately, Rat and I can't make the pulled pork event. He is working and we have company that aren't arriving until after 5 so I need to be home. Have a great time!! We WILL be thinking of you and the fun you'll be having.

Stinky said...

Hey Rat and Bubbles:

This is your chance to use your star. You are right, there is no star on our house, but I am sure I can hook you up.

Rob refuses to clean his side of the closet because Bubbles is not coming.

Remember, you are more than welcome to invite your guests to the social.

The pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like to express
praise for answered prayers. Suzie Smith stood and walked to the
podium. She said, "I have a praise. Two months ago, my husband, Tom,
had a terrible bicycle wreck and his scrotum was completely crushed.
The pain was excruciating and the doctors didn't know if they could help
him." You could hear a muffled gasp from the men in the congregation as
they imagine the pain that poor Tom must have experienced. "Tom was
unable to hold me or the children," she went on, "and every move caused
him terrible pain." We prayed as the doctors performed a delicate
operation, and it turned out they were able to piece together the
crushed remnants of Tom's scrotum, and wrap wire around it to hold it in
place." Again, the men in the congregation cringed and squirmed
uncomfortably as they imagined the horrible surgery performed on Tom.
"Now," she announced in a quivering voice, thank the Lord, Tom is out of
the hospital and the doctors say that with time, his scrotum should
recover completely." All the men sighed with unified relief. The
pastor rose and tentatively asked if anyone else had something to say. A
man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, "I'm Tom Smith."
The entire congregation held its breath. "I just want to tell my wife
the word is sternum."

rat said...

Hey Turbo, that was excellent! It actually does happen that people use the wrong word(s) as the wife did.

Smoothy, that is scariest looking doppler as it relates to the impending rain. The area is bigger than Maine and NB combined! Back to bed I guess!

leah said...

smoothie,

i just meant my toes were not a fan of the ride because they were cold. guess i'm going to have to track down some of those fancy booties. do you have a pair i can borrow? i figure if you can keep stinky warm with gear...

have fun tomorrow night everyone. i'm off for a conference, but will be thinking of you, and looking forward to the next event.

i'd like to host something - would oct. 15th/16th weekend work for folks?

Turbo said...

Turbo and Miss's bringing Dessert. Rest assured she is maikng it. I'll carry it.

Stinky said...

Rob and I are looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. The weather is looking promising. I am still up for a ride at 9:00.

If it is still wet out at 9:00, we can postpone it until later, but so far the hourly forecast says that it is supposed to be sunny early in the morning. See you then.

Mel said...

See you in the morning!

Donut said...

Count me in for the ride as well, see ya's at the SS for 9:00..

Turbo said...

if all goes well with work, i'll see you for 0900. Social pace!!!

Cookie said...

I was wondering it anyone might have an old mountain bike collecting dust in their garage. I'd like to find one for my nephew, Austin. He is 10 years old but a very big guy, so an adult size small or even medium would fit him.

Thanks,

Cookie

Stinky said...

The roads are still wet so I am not heading out for 9:00. Instead, I am going to wait until 11:00, if the roads are dry.

Whoever can still make it, we can meet at the SS and decide on a shorter route. Hopefully things dry up for 11:00.

zorro said...

I will make it for 11am SS if dry.

Mel said...

The roads are taking awhile to dry but it suits me to ride now rather than later. Plus, my bike is already dirty. I will swing by SS for 9 and see if anyone is there. Leroy?? What are you doing??

Donut said...

I'm also in for 11:00 at the SS if things dry up..

Turbo said...

tied up with work, see y"all tonight

Donut said...

Roads are drying, spoke with Zorro and we'll be at the SS for 11:00
