Hey Stinky,
You need to rename your ride the Cambridge Narrows Loop. The gagetown loop goes out to Gaetown then back. The name of the loop refers to where you are riding to.
What time were you thinking of being back home?
Eco: Your link abut Turbo and Rat ordering kits was PERFECT!
Can't make the tuesday am ride. sorry for the maybe's Work trumps. Plan to be out tonight if weather permits.
Rat:
Alright then...The Cambridge Narrows Loop is what we are doing. Apparently I have difficulty with navigational skills and naming a route. :)
I think we should be home by 4:00, but I can't confirm that. I will have more details once I speak to Donut about leaving time, where we will meet in Gagetown and so on....
Once more, in case you didn't see the video posted by Eco that Cookie references above click on Jazz.
Hey Bubbles,
Was talking with Rat, you can run on Wednesday morning, come join us on the "Cambridge Narrows Loop".. I wonna hear about your vacation in NH and how you pulled Rat all week long..:)
I'm on for tomorrow morning's ride and looking forward to it. I need to be back in Fredericton for 3pm.
I'm on for tomorrow morning's ride and looking forward to it. I need to be back in Fredericton for 3pm.
Right on Bubbles. See you all tomorrow. It is going to be a fantastic day.
Glad to hear that your gonna make it Bubbs, wouldn't be the same with out ya..
Click on this for the truth about the OSB girls.
Looking forward to the morning ride!! It is going to be a hot one.
OK, now we all know the truth... LOL After seeing DS ride last night there may be yet another sheriff in town. All good :-)
Have a great day, take some pics.
PS= tks for the monday night ride, Flintstone legs.
Bubbles:
That video was great. I could not stop laughing. Good job and very true.
We gad a great ride today. Rat, Bubbles, Donut, Deb and Stinky rode the Cambridge Narrows Loop. Wow..Was I ever tired after all those hills!!!!
Great day and great weather.
Thanks for looking after me last night and thanks to Jamie for the $ for the drink along NM highway.
Awesome day for the awesome ride with some awesome riders!
Thanks for the hills Stinky!
Oh yeah click on bubbles name on the above blog for one fine movie, especially important the guys watch it!
Bubbles rocks Xtranormal movie making!!! I'm under my desk laughing... ..."and Rat he has not worn those thin shorts lately either....he has become a snazzy dresser... "
GO OSB GIRLS GO! "What would Team OSB be without them?"
What a fabulous ride today!! Donut was decked out in his new Radioshack Kit and looking svelt as Lance, Rat pulled us through the hills (Donut and I fought for his tire) and Stinky and Deb were downright awesome! Deb, YOU rock. The more OSB girls the better!! Well, gotta go get my star up on the garage...who knew??
Can someone with lots of spare time, perhaps on a teacher or bankers schedule. Please prepare a rebutal for the Gals. their uprising could cause us some grief!
On second thought...
Sweet ride today, was a nice change to cover some new territory.. Great job Stinky.. Bubbles, unable to play the video for some strange reason, have to get back to you after i figure it out.. Hanging the star on the garage are you, nothing will surprise me with you now.. Haha..
Turbo, I've enlisted some writers from the old Tonight Show to start working on our re"butt"al. It make take a while...they don't know Bubbles or Stinky from Eve, but I'm sure it will still be funny. (p.s. i would just to say for the record that I have never ever criticized Stinky's pulls...) (p.p.s. I often thank the cycling gods that Rat retired those shorts...)
Bubbles, sorry to disappoint you, but the rule of the star may only apply to Pepper Creek. So, in saying that, you need to sell your house and move to the creek. :)
Jazz, Bubbles is right. I have witnesses about the critizing. :)
Wow....Am I ever tired.
Jazz, as I recall it...you had to hang out off the back of the pace line and hang your head in shame after your comments about the pulls. My, how we soon forget our foibles!
Stinky, my neighbors have a star, I'll have to keep an eye on them. I am exhausted too!!
Bubbles that was a riot. Where and how did you come up with that? Your talent ceases to amaze me. Sure wish I could have been on the ride today. Just too busy figuring out my riding atire and working on my calf muscles
Bubbles: Your talents cease to amaze me as well. :)
Well done. Except for that comment about me , the rest was very funny and uncomfortably close to the truth.
Bubbles...very funny video. And yes, true I imagine.
Well...you know what they say...the truth hurts. When you GUYS find someone who has a week off, we'll expect something in return. That's the thing about girls, they can make a movie WHILE they are working crazy hours, exercising regularly, looking after the house and parenting children. Wow...we really are great!
Don't forget cooking and walking the dog. Congrats the movie has been nominated for "Best in Adult Fiction" sequal?
Hey, this needs correcting! My recollection is that Stinky had the lead going uphill on a really hard pull and started having trouble with her gears as we all sometimes do. Trying to keep consistency in the pace, I pulled out to the left of her and passed her with the pace line following.
Ok, maybe it was premature and maybe I was wrong, but I simply thought it was safer at the time. So, she called me out on it and I sat there questioning whether I had done the right or wrong thing and dropped to the back of the line. Just like when Jurgen blew by us going up Keswick Hill Friday - my heart was suddenly not in it anymore!
So, it was NOT a critism of her pulling - just a disagreement over whether I should have stayed behind her in that situation. Or at least that's totally how i read (misread?) it!
And, if I'm riding off the back...Bubbles, you should know by now that it's by choice....
Got it Jazz and you are correct...I did know it was by choice...I for one would never assume that your were dropped!
Hey Rat, Bubbles, Smoothie, Stinky, Donut and other day time riders...Greg from OSB-Vancouver is coming home next Friday. He's training for some big 190k race later in the summer. So he's looking to ride "a lot" the days between July 23 and August 3rd. In other words, 80 to 100k rides when he can and likely just about every day (though maybe not that long).
I'll likely ride with him some but won't be able to ride as much as he wants. How do schedules look for that time period?
Jazz, I will be available to bike. We will talk more during that week.
Steve and Deb - I am in for Friday.
Anyone still riding tonight?
Looks like maybe a shower but nothing more...
The Local Radar linked to my name.
Actually Jazz...the race that OSB-Van is torturing himself on is 330km. It is called LOTJA (Logan, Utah to Jackson, Wyomin) and is the longest one-day sanctioned cycling race in the USA. Looks kookoo and painful - click on my name. Maybe some OSB-East pain monkeys will want to go in the race lottery for next year?
Not riding wed. rode lat night with wife, she cracked me. For Gods sake don't tell Bubbles. She'd have to take another sick day to make a movie. I plan to ride Thursday, Social pace (really)
Hi Jazz
The later part of that week through to August 3rd looks great for me for doing some long rides.
Turbo
I'm not surprised. Women riders will do that to you. NEVER underestimate Darlene. Oh...I see a year end movie in the making.
I am in for wed ride as long as no rain at start.
Anybody interested in riding the Stanley loop, the Staffords, Stinky and myself will be riding in the morning.. Meeting at the bottom of McLeod Hill at 8:00 am.
...or Donut...for equal punishment you could poke yourself in the eye with a pointy stick! My legs say no to those hills(plus I have to work) otherwise, I'd consider it. Great company.
Donut et al,
Work 'til 0100, would love to join, and wil have a drive to get ot the bottom of the hill. Perhaps if I ride I will drive to you place, and leave with you.If not there by 0740 won't be there.
Sorry you have to work Bubbs, plan to make it an "enjoyable pace", that is what you kept asking for on Tuesday isn't it..:) Summer is still early and there will be many more rides.. I heard of another road trip in the making, something to do with the Kingston Penninsula..FYI.. Rat I'll wait around, if there is no sign of you by 7:50 I'll presume your unalbe to make it..
Hey Bubbs, not only are you missing out on a great ride today with great company, by the look of the sky your gonna miss out on some awesome Vitamin D... Sorry
Thanks to Jurgen and Zorro for a great ride up to Mt Hope and back last night. Challenging and fun. But this humidity is not my friend - thought my head was literally going to pop at one point.
Jurgen - those new shorts have definitely got to go! not 1 but 2 saddles sores today - yikes!
post if interested in a thursday ride. I will swing by SS 530 otherwise will ride elsewhere from home
Great ride to day Donut and Stinky. It would have been even better if it wasn't for those friggin truckers!
Hey Stanley Commutors,
At 630 felt not rested enough to get and rush over so did get out at 830 for the solo Burton-Mactaquac-Maz 120km loop, with a quick stop at Franks for java and muffin. Did have a 33kph for the loop but slowed once the hills of Maz began.
That was a super ride today Donut and Steve. I agree with you Steve....Friggin Truckers... No respect at all. :) And, to make matters worse, they didn't even give us a draft.
Steve and Donna:
Book Darlene and Turbo for friday night ride and social.
Hey that's not fair, Debbie got a nickname before me. DONNA!!!!
Hey Stafford
I'm in for Friday ride and social.. Deb, work your powers tommorow so you can leave work early and make it for the ride..
Hey Steve and DEb: I am in for fri ride and social
ok, you all knew this was coming. click on turbo.
Sorry, Debbie, it went from Susan to Donna, at least I'm getting closer :-)
Hey Turbo - that one is sweet! Nicely done. (You're more likely to get a tongue-lashing from Rat than the ladies though!)
Can't make it out tonight! Thanks Staffords, wish I could attend the social but my oldest (Sir Speedy) is back from a week long camp this afternoon and I need to be around this evening. Big Harvest day tomorrow morning as well! Have fun tonight! (really it should have been clothing optional)
Listen if anyone cares to pen a video I have a membership use my username and password save $5 bucks.
Rat and I are in St.Andrews and I can't get the sound to work on this archaic computer...ahh so I can't hear the movie. My guess though is that it is saying alot of really nice things about the OSB girls! Sorry that we will miss the social tonight. Rode a very nice 70K today though. Have a great ride and a fun evening...don't do anything I wouldn't do.
How long is Saturday's route? I'm interested but I'm not sure I have the time.
thanks to Deb and BS for the wonderful friday ride and social, nice Diggs great people. Hey woody wanna try for a 3 peat next friday :-)
working in the morning. route is @ 80km.
Steve & Debbie, thanks for the social tonight, really nice! I was thinking of riding tomorrow morning but since I just arrived in F'ton and Marisa and Phillip are leaving for Baddeck in the morning, I will be staying home to see them off and ride later in the day. If anyone else can't make it for 8:00 a.m. and would like to ride later, contact me.
I'm in!
Thanks Deb and Steve a.k.a( Sexy, Big Sexy or B-Sexy just some ideas)

Thanks Deb and BS for the ride and a great social.. Lots of good laughs making for good times as always.. Off to Maine for a couple days, see ya's later in the week. Enjoy the ride today, be sure ad take advantage of that "the tail wind"....:)
Great ride this morning woody and zorro. I love that route, coming back from Hamtown corner was a blast. I'm gone for the next 2 weeks, see you guys in August.
+1 on that B-Sexy!
We didn't get lost and Turbo wasn't there. Coincidence?
I did a quick check on the web and you should be able to get an 11-25 cassette no problem. They also make an 11-28 but you may need a special derailleur for that. The boys at Radical Edge should be able to set you up.
Thanks woody, i'll look in to that.
i mean into
Sorry this is late, but thanks Bsexy and Deb for a great ride and social last night. That carrot cake rocked!!!!
Is anyone riding tomorrow morning??
Smoothie: I'm heading out @ 8:00 AM for 2-2.5 hrs. Was thinking Maz Sett via 105. Meet @ Tim's on Douglas if you're still intrested.
Look for me at Tim's at 8:00 am. Anyone else?
It was a great day for a ride, thanks to, Argon Bob!
Thanks to you too Smoothie. What a lovely day. Another great one for the boat.
Hello from Portsmouth,
A week of cycling highs & a low in the heat (90+F) and humidity (90-100%) of the Great Bay area this week.
The week's low was breaking my front derailleur when attempting to drop into the small ring on Mount Agamenticus Thursday evening.
A drive down to Newburyport, Ma on Friday afternoon scored a new derailleur ... though I'm not 100% happy with the mechanic's handy-work of installation and tuning ... first stop will be a visit to Brian when I return home.
Among the highlights was today's ride around Lake Winnipesaukee - we started at 06:00 to beat the heat. I also appear to have won a set of Easton EC90 wheels in the CyclingNews.com tour de france contest ... since I have not {yet} figured out how I could use a third set of wheels, there may be a screaming deal in someone's future.
This coming week will see a "heart-in-your-throat" evening ride with gang from Exeter cycles and a {tentative} plan to ride either the Kancamagus & Five Notches loop around the White Mountains or the Sunday River - Grafton Notch loop on my way home next Saturday {anyone interested in dropping down to join me?}.
See you all in about a week.
B-Sexy,
Some additional info to Woody's post. SRAM makes an 11-26 and 11-28 cassette that can be used with both SRAM and Shimano gruppos
