Is this one of those "Guess where this was taken" contests? It reminds me of a hill on the way to Stanley. I'm just glad I wasn't there last week when my rear derailleur cable broke on a ride and I was stuck in my smallest cog. My bike is all now all tuned up (I wish it were so easy for me!). Looking forward to getting out more.
Hey Rocket, hope to see you on an OSB ride soon :-) Not sure where that pic was taken but the wone below is from the "Sex in the City" ride, the section between the house with the flower garden and the Church I do believe. That was a great day!
Hey Zorro, can't make it for Tuesday ride working... I know, hard to believe, but if you and anybody else are around Wednesday at the same time I plan to get out.. Been over a week and I'm in need!!
West Coast Greg is wondering if anyone of us has a Garmin GPS unit for bike?..he's wondering about buying the 705 Unit and looking for reviews....chime in if you do, please.
We meet up with some dudes in Carolina, Darren and Kelly had went over for directions. (I must say after Rat got us lost :-) and one of the bikers had the 705 Darren was impressed and was talking about it at the bike shop. I don't know anything about that model. but have the 305 and it's the best gizzmo I own. With the cadence add-on. No maps is the only draw back. Plus the 305 can be used for any sport. In fact Adam has worn his to bed on numerous occasions. We've yet to see the printouts. I would suggest it parrelles hill repeats.
Rat (and anyone else who may wish to commute with me): I will be leaving at 7:30 a.m. from my house and ride the normal route on the northside to Oromocto to arrive before 8:30. This year it will be Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. I'd love company. We can meet at MacLean's or Irving you can decide. Or, to mix it up, we can meet in town and ride the southside. Let me know if I should watch for you tomorrow. Join the commute!!

Commuting is Wed/Thur/Fri. However, it is weather dependent. I no longer leave if it is raining. However, if I can get there dry and it rains on the way home, "them's the breaks!" Tomorrow is iffy and so is Friday. Watch the weather and the blog. Thanks to Rat for making it a great commute this a.m.
I was wandering my way over towards Saunders street this evening when I encountered Scar, Pinky, King, a couple of others, and, eventually, Coach.
Having been some time since this crew last had the opportunity to "hand my ass to me", I decided to tag along to the aromatic and K9-littered destination of Mount Hope{less} ...
While suffering my way over that second false summit - I had worked up the requisite "ugly face" to communicate the immense pleasure of the moment - there was a brief encounter with Stinky, and Mr. Stinky,as they zoomed past in the direction approved by gravity.
Awesome ride Wedneday night. A few comments for consideration: Cookie's been training all winter, that much is clear. Let's look for routes that offer as much shoulder as possible - there were a few too many close calls with cars/trucks last night. That Cookie is too strong for this early in the season! Let's consider dropping the Wilsey Road from our all routes. Did I mention that Cookie is a Monster?! Thanks to all for the fun last night - my first OSB ride of the season. Moments of bliss and pain with good friends. (Cue the Kumbaya...sniff.)
Cookie, you can't deny it, I have witnesses. That first pull of yours last night, we hit 50kph - going uphill! I thought Bubbles was out front there for a minute...
Cookie ain't getting any... and took it out on us last night. From the response, alot of us ain't getting any either. But the biking sure felt good!!! tomorrow I'll have a different story
Steve: Tomorrow's weather looks good for the morning, so I am going to commute. I will worry about the afternoon later. Rat and I have been meeting at MacLean's on Union Street at 7:35 a.m. does that work for you? Post your reply or call at 7 a.m. Rat, are you in too?
Good luck to Bubbles, Herc, and Queen E on Saturday.
Bubbles: If you do well I will take part of the credit. Ever since I dropped you like a bad habit in Castle Acres you have been much more focused and determined.
thank you for the well wishes. I am excited to race and then ride after. Cookie, you are just asking for trouble from Bubbles. I shutter to think what will happen on Monday when we run in Castle Acres. You might want to bring Lucy with you to proctect you.
... had client with issues this morning, so I've been sitting at the computer in my cycling gear for a couple of hours and did not escape to Harvey as planned :(
I'll try to meet the rest of you for 13:30 ... where are we going? Yoho-Harvey, Nackawic, Millville, Stanley, Ripples ... ???
I know that I want to ride tomorrow but I will watch the weather! I don't want to ride in the rain three days in a row! Post your ride and if it looks like it will stay dry, I'll try to make it!
Thanks Dish! YES OSB Weekly posted rides will begin week of May 3rd. I have circulated a call for OSBers to each take a week of posting routes. So posted rides will commence and continue thoughout the season as persons participate in the process. For those who didn't receive an email or didn't yet reply please advise of your prefered weeks.
Sure it was windy tonight but it could have been worse, it could have been windy AND wet! We were lucky, it worked out well. Did you make it home safely, Rat?
Yes, Rat arrived home safely! Before he met you guys he went with me on a "recovery" spin during which we averaged 33km/hr! Then he left me at home and proceeded to do another 45K. He is a crazed man and I am exhausted!

Haha, Coach! That was a great ride for sure. I think it was Sex in the Country, though :).
Sex in the Country was my favorite ride. Stopping at the flower garden to take pictures was amazing.
Zorro, I will try and make it at 5:30 tomorrow. This time I will take a jacket.

Jazz,
Fear not ... now that the river is receding, Cookie will soon take his spring bath and that monstrous strength will clear-up
Jazz is full of shit
... then perhaps it was his own "strength" that was on the air?

Hopefully out on Sunday for an EASY ride.
Good luck to Bubbles, Herc, and Queen E on Saturday.
