Please join us in congratulating Jean-Guy “Firebird” Violette as the recipient of the 2008 Team OSB member of the Year. Many of the voting members expressed admiration and respect for Jean-Guy and look to him as a leader both on and off the bike.

Just to let everyone know that this coming Wednesday (January 7th) will be the first installement of our Winter XC Sprint Series. The sprints this week will be held at the bottom of Odell Park (in front of the Lodge) between 6-7pm and will be skate technique (but you can classic ski if you want especially if we get all this snow). This is only for pure fun, a bit of training, and some serious production of lactic acid! If you are interested meet us at 6pm at the Odell Park Lodge for a warm-up prior to the sprints. THIS IS FOR EVERYONE, not only for the racers but for anyone interested in getting fit and having a good time. If you know anyone else who would be interested please pass it along, more skiers = more fun! I will try to also post it on the newly designed Wostawea website. Check it out at http://www.geocities.com/wostawea/ for all your skiing fixes.
I will use this list to let you know where they will be held each week. I would also like to start an email and phone list of keen skiers for outting, training etc. so that we don't have to ski or do road trips on our own. Adam Hadley, Nick, Doug and I went skiing yesterday together and it was alot of fun so get with it! If you are keen to be on this list, please reply to this email and give me your phone number (home or cell whichever you prefer) and email (if it is different then the one I have). I will then distribute the list to everyone. Tell all your friends to do the same.

It looks like we are going to get a great winter for skiing so let's make the most of it.
Yes conditions were good. Thanks for the tips guys. I'm gonna hammer out a few solo skis, take Jane's lessons and hopefully be able to keep someone within sight here in a few weeks.
