Great job by Jazz, Rocket, and Adam yesterday at the Provincial TT Championships. Thanks to Andrew Arsenault for all of his work.

Thanks to Andrew and all the volunteers for Sunday's TT. 44+ km/h won it but next down was about 41.5km/h. I finished at 40.15km/h which was an improvement over the 40k TT in Moncton at 37.0km/h but I still finished last!! Only need another 1-1.5km/h to put me on the podium next time hopefully.
Thanks to Turbo and Cookie for being an awesome cheering section. It was my first official TT and having good friends and teammates there was comforting and inspiring. And I did have a good laugh when the convertible with T&C in it came right up beside me. Felt good to hurl some expletives!Yah, well, forty-smorty. I did 35kph and I cramped with 1km to go. Still felt awesome to take part.
A pair of brand new ...MICHELIN PRO 2 ROAD BICYCLE BIKE TIRES 700 X 25 PRO2 Black and Grey.
Take if from experience - (me and Turbo's) - these do not fit a Madone front fork!
Make your best offer!
Holy Cow you guys (the entire Monday night crew) are strong! I joined on but only from the airport to the Waasis end of Nevers where I cut off to link back up with Hannah. Sure glad I was able to get sucked along at the back of your 40 km/hr pelaton.
Flatted on way into town for Monday night ride, Rim tape troubles. Oh well got to do some stuff around the house. Will be strong for wednesday hurt feast.
cheers
Too bad about your tire Turbo! Had a variety of people on the ride. Woody and King pulled us along until Rusagonis and then had to head home,Pinky (sporting his name on his bike) joined us at the airport for a piece (of the ride). Smoothy, Rat, Zorro and I managed to hang-on to No Doubt et al., as far as the New Maryland highway. Then we let those two nuts go it alone. Not really a choice:) Good ride, hard work!
Jazz, heard yo on CBC this am and man, you sounded great Mind you I wasn't sure if you were a musical director or some professor type what with all that talk of the "African-American diaspora that occured as a result of the industrial revolution." Wow!!! I think OSB should stand for Old Socialscientist Biker!
Anyway, you are always so articulate and passionate about the music and that is one of the reasons for the HJB's success. Hats off to ya'
Hmmm...Jazz didn't seem so articulate when he was yelling abscenities at me during the TT.
Ahhhh Cookie; but we yell abscenities at you! :)
Good ride ce soir.
Guess the training benefits of riding 480k rode last week in NFLD, were offset by the 92 plus BEER I drank.
Somebody pls tell Jean-Guy to go in next years road nationals...the guy could easily be a national champ in his age group.
Cheers
The Summer of Tank
Wed night ride = Carnage!
Carnage...Isn't that what Wednesday nights are supposed to be?
Mitch summed it up when he asked Jean-Guy "What the hell are you on anyways? Cialis?". The f@#$ing guy is 50 years old and he's kicking our asses for a joke. I think road nationals may be a good idea.
PS on my earlier blog entry.
I apologize for not taking my turn out front.....My f%$#&@# lungs were bleeding.
Turbo, pls clarify the profanity guidelines for the blog.
The Summer of Tank
Please, I think we all had our share in the carnage...Mitch was the first if I remember well,,then Pinky (you know when he puts his head down and kicks ass), then Turbo had his share, Jazz pulled up the hill like a crazy man...and oh yes Cookie, well he just went hard all the time...Tank well he was digesting the beers.
Great ride, thanks Cookie for the great pull.. what a rush eh!
ps. Cookie time to get new tires:-)
Is anyone interested in a MTB ride Thursday night?
Slept like a Baby! Twice in one day i felt that way. Man you Guys are SOME Strong.
The Profanity guidelines need only apply to myself :-)
Sleep; what is that?
My heart rate has yet to calm down!!
Yah, I had Fred Flintstone legs all night too - wah wah wah.
There was nowhere to hide on that ride.
You guys are all a bunch of Uncle F#ckers! ;-)
Rat, remember the blog is for abuse only...though I have to say those were very nice words. Thx.
Harvest really is a hoot. Love to see all OSBers out there having fun, seeing some great musicians!! And don't forget Zorro is a key organizer too!
Geesh: I was already to tell everyone how proud I was of you guys as you dropped me on the TCH, my Friends soooo strong. and how I have so many role models in my life. and thinking that, Tank in the "Summer of Lovin Tank" he could do no wrong and how back in the early dayz he pulled many of us along.
But now I’m advised Blog is "for abuse only"
SO... What sick bunch of friends, could derive pleasure from evaporating a warm summer’s night into cadence driven, gear grinding, no time for water bottle drinking, Pinerallo powered, Cookie crushing, slaughter house. Even challenged Pinky as he stopped to watering his chain? (must be mechanical advantage) Then, as our pace line home, transformed from, wheel sucking to tire watching then jersey color and to spec on the horizon, I mumbled obscenities of pride at all of you. Long forget full of the fine riders who fell before me, Great ones, Rocket, Scar and Summer of (notgonnatakeapullcallmeLorenzo) Lovin Tank. Without even a flinch we bravely rode on. Totally commitment to the Mission. Fortunately for me I had the “tap out” option of Mazzerolle Settlement. Now I limped back into Dodge, with the adrenal glands in shutdown mode, suddenly feeling kinda lonely as a sole rider. Now contemplating what would be accomplished on the bike of life without the push/pull/banter of others. Fast or Slow, Front or Back. (Giver if Ya Got-it)
Friendly Reminder- Friday is Social Night
I'msorry I had to miss the ride as Mat came home from Austria.
Well Bubbles and I are off to PEI for the BFBC the Biking for Breakfast Challenge on Sat, that 278k stroll in the park. And yes Bubbles is doing the ride this year a Secretly Iam hoping for rain - nnnnotttt!
See ya'll next week
Hope
Oh I frogot! does anyone have or know the website for the Cabot trail bike ride?
Atlantic Cycling has the link to the Tackle the Trail.
Ended up having a great ride Wednesday, even after slipping off the back. Scar pulled off ahead of me ("Where is he going....??"), and the next thing I knew there was a dreaded gap which I didn't respond to (too hot, too tired), and that's all she wrote. Mazerolle road was nice and shady in parts, and then I took the new hiway back to town.
Enjoyed the TT on the weekend (even though I got to bed at 4 am the night before - on call). It was a great route for a TT and a challenging distance! Fantastic job by Andrew Arsenault, Sheila and all the volunteers.
Sent in my application for the Cabot Trail weekend today. Last day for the early bird discount is August 3rd. This will be my 3rd year in a row.
Good luck to Rat and Bubbles - hope for tail winds!
Best of luck Bubbles & Rat, want to hear the details on your return.
The Sounds of Biking Jazz will be interupted starting today for 10 days vacation in points west. Will miss you all, especially you Uncle F#ckers (you know who you are).
UF-Turbo, you managed to smear just about everyone in that last post of yours - well done!
Firebird is super hot, but my vote for Most Improved Rider is the Monster himself, Double Choc Chip Cookie. Him so strong. It's nothing but "go time" on every ride.
Oops. that was way too complimentary for the blog. So, I'll end with "but too bad he's an Uncle F@cker too."
Bye for now. (damn, my legs still hurt from Wednesday night)
In true OSB fashion. Ride is on for tonight: Rain or Shine. Beer at Ringo's post ride: bring a change of clothes.
Friday night ride: Tank, Scar, No Doubt, Peddro (Paul), Bunny (Christine), Bob (?), and Pinky.
Social ride pace was maintained and all had a great ride to the top of Mount Hope and back.
Have a great week all; see you later.
Eagles Back.
