I think that this Friday is Radical's Trek Demo Day. I know I want to try a new Madone to tempt me. We may want to work it into the ride somehow.

I am not riding in "The Ride to Conquer Cancer", a ride from Toronto to Niagra and back, to raise money for Cancer Research but my brother, Avrum is. He is an avid cyclist and a cancer survivor. His goal is to raise $2500 and it's getting close to crunch time. If you want to know more or make a small (large) donation, click on:
http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Toronto2008?px=1306657&pg=personal&fr_id=1201&et=3ABZd_gA18CrlNPveCc2Lw..&s_tafId=96481
to go to his personal page. Or, go to: http://to08.conquercancer.ca/site/PageServer?pagename=to08_homepage or just: http://to08.conquercancer.ca
then click on "Donation" and search his name: Avrum Soicher. Thanks for looking, it is a good cause, if we lived closer we would likely be riding in it.

Smoothie and Firebird, it was great to hook up with you guys this am. Great run down the Royal Road!
Smoothy, how would we do with 31.6? I was at 30.9 with 79km and finished the ride with 110km.

Who is going out in the am for Argon Bob's posted ride? Are there any later in the am or afternoon riders? That is for Sunday, fathers day.

Great ride Sunday morning. That is what OSB is all about.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone notice? There weren't any chains on our bikes! Amazing.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, second Sunday morning in a row where my hangover exceeded allowable riding limits. Hope it was a good one...ride to Millville in afternoon for early season pancake training instead...

Anonymous said...

Jazz speaks of "musical rides". The only music on last nights ride was spin spin spin and "here comes my lung".

Will also send email to all osb members.

The Kings County Wheelers are hosting th Provincial Road Championships this coming Sunday, June 22nd.
We are allowing all non-licensed riders to register under the citizen category the day of the event and race in their respective category, I know this has been an issue with some racers, so please pass this along to all OSB members and any other members of the cycling community you're in touch with.
I have also attached the registration form and info on the race. The only edit in the info is that it is MASTER EXPERT 30+ (NOT 30-39)
Please forward any question to this email or call John McNair at work 506-433-3060 or home 506-433-3829
Thanks

Sorry I missed the Wednesday ride. Did the route change? I was running late so I started out the the 105 from home. I waited til 5:55 at the Douglas Irving and no OSBers in sight so I rode the route solo.

Anonymous said...

Bob

The route changed at the last min. as no one wanted to once again ride the road repairs through Islandview. Sorry we missed you.

Turbo:

Please post my rides next week as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday "Y" 5:30
Group decides ride

Saturday ride: please see blog for details.

Mel said...

Way to go Turbo and Radical Edge. Can we read Erin's essay?? Can you post it?? Last years was great!
Is anyone interested in riding after supper tonight??

Anonymous said...

Mel, Yes I would ride tonight

Anonymous said...

et all:
From the survey at start of season. the concencus was that. people prefer to have posted routes. As persons often have to plan the night before as they go to rides directly from work or plan to meet up with group along the route. Also those with family committments can juggle the known route into there other responsibilities.
In fairness to all, if you choose not to post for your week just let me know and will make alternate plans.
cheers

I am very happy to announce that the 2007 outstanding member of OSB has been awarded to our very own Leroy Turbo Anderson. From the Garage of Pain to the Best Baby Back Ribs this guy has proven his loyalty to members and friends of Team OSB.

From all the people associated with Team OSB,Thank you Leroy for being who you are.

Very well said, King. Here, here!

Ah Mary is the best song Ms. Potter has ever produced. If we were ever to consider having a ride based on this one (perhaps tonight) it would essentially be intervals, intervals, intervals.

Friday night ride: Let's hope that it is stinking hot, the ride is fast and sweaty and the beer cold! Friday is here: YIPPEE!

Forgot the link, sorry.

What is the start time for saturday ride?

Anonymous said...

Mr. Anderson, you da man.

Anonymous said...

Will we leave the Y at 0900 in the morning (those who aren't heading out at 0630)? Congratulations Turbo, great to see your name "on the wall". There is no-one more deserving or committed to this group. To celebrate, I think we should climb "the wall" tomorrow as per Jazz's suggested ride.

Oh Yeah, we were joined on the friday night ride by an unasumming guest from BC. he introduced himself Darrell Fox. No body thought anything of it, come to find out 1/2 way along he's the brother of Terry Fox and was in thru the Maritmes as part of the Terry Fox promo tour with the revilatized motor home from the origianl journey. Had a chance for a little chat and acknowledgement of what a great ICON Terry and the family is.
cheers to the fight against Cancer.

PS- Thanks for the OSB MOTY acknowledgement, I enjoy all the time (people) with OSB.
