fine sunday night ride. Cookie and i did a gentle warm-up. York street?? The only thing good about that feeling, is giving your (brother from a different mother) the same. We then sauntered over to Jazz's and watched him primp for the ride, (nice glasses) then spent 4 city blocks trying to decide a route. and it morphed into a collection of hills and climbs in which we all stated. "slowly" at the bottom of each one and then tried to unassumingly, build enought gap to be declared the "winner" Only Cookie succeeded. Jazz was so intense he was firing snot rockets to those trying to pass him. What's a little gob amoungst teammates.
Thanks Dudes.
I hope/plan to do an early Canada Day ride!

I plan to do a long Canada Day ride tomorrow, but unfortunately can't go until 1 pm (I am tied to my pager all week, but a colleague has kindly offered to take call for me from 1pm to 7pm). Anybody else planning for the afternoon?

Turbo-what time tomorrow and where?

re:Early Canada Ride

7:30 AM works for me, meet @ the Y? Can only ride for 2-2.5 hours.

Is 7:30 AM departure from the Y a for sure? A 2 - 2.5 hr tempo ride leaving then sounds good to me. Turbo, please confirm. thanks.

lets go for 0730,Y because. With that being said i'm on stand by for work. It looks like it will be the afternoon shift, but if by chance i'm not there for 0730. you'll know why.

Smooth sailing ahead!!!

Ditto to Turbo's comments. This mornings "tour de Beautiful NB country side" was pretty darn awesome, as was the oatmeal and company!

Dr. Bubbles. A nice ring to it. Congrats.

Rat and I are planning to ride when he finishes work today. Anyone interested in riding at 5?

Thanks to the OSBers who emailed or called to wish me luck (Pinky and Jazz) and actually came to my defence (Turbo and Darlene, Cookie and Rat)!!! Wow, that was incredible. Even the Chair of the defense acknowledged how amazing it was to have so many interested people at the event. The support of good friends is so important. Looking up and seeing supportive faces and knowing others were thinking about me gave me the courage to survive the experience. You will never know how much I appreciated your expression of interest in my work. Cookie...you can stop emailing me questions now, the defence is over:)

And of course to Dear Rat (not a term I use frequently when cycling)...who has endured and supported me through the whole experience. He deserves an award.

Now I plan to put all that energy into cycling!!! (and drinking wine)

OSB is truly a fantastic group.

We're so proud of you, Dr. Bubbles!!..(like this group needed another smarty pants or anything....)..so does this mean we're going to see you riding with us now?! Hope so.

Hey all - How's Aug 16th work for Tde Sour Dough??

Dear Dr. Sour Dough; what do you mean "riding with us"? We haven't seen much of you either? Have you been doing a Ph.D too or have you been avoiding the rides that I'm on due to my beautiful "Blues" shorts?

Anonymous said...

Well Pinky, your shorts do give some of us the "blues". Any idea of where the ride is going tonight? Rat and I are seeing Mathieu off to Austria on a flight that leaves at 525 so just wondering where the 0530 ride might be heading? Rat has his bike with him.

I deserved that. yes, I've been riding a lot less than I have wanted to and intend to attempt to make up for that in July and August. See y'll Friday night - and yes, Pinky, please do where the Blues shorts!
