Thanks all for your kind words and encouragement. What an honour to be the OSB councillor. My first proclamation is to support cycling!!! I'll still be riding for sure!
Speaking of riding, I have to do 120 km on Friday (ending by 6:30) or Sat. (starting any time after 9 am). Any takers?
Anyone up for a long base pace ride to Stanley on Sunday? It's about a 130 km ride via mactaquac, Burts Corner, royal road, Stanley, Taymouth, Durham, Peniac , home. It's possible this could be a group with a variety of paces ( some with aero bars ) but we could plan to regroup at a couple of spots. I would love any company so let me know if you are interested. It will be after the Sunday swim , so role out around 10:30-11 from the mactaquac damn, or SS stepping stones senior center, or keswick bakery ? Others welcomed, just reaching out to those I thought would be interested. ( someone could post this ride on the OSB blog ). Finally, the sun promises to make an appearance on the weekend!!
When you confirm the long ride, can you send me date/time/meeting place details via email (LLevac@unb.ca)? I won't be able to check the blog, but will get emails. Thanks a lot!
Hi guys, are there any plans for Monday? Today I did the Nackawic loop; 140 km and 1060 height meters along the St. John; gorgeous! (see http://www.bikemap.net/route/1585880)
Let's go for a group ride tomorrow, Friday then, I will provide Diet Pop (and beer) to drink on my patio. Plus, I will record the Giro and we can watch the last hour of the race and cheer on Ryder! We can meet at SS as usual then end up at my place on Waterford Ln.
If we do Durham Bridge, we should meet either at my home or at the very least, plan to cross the walking bridge and I will meet you on the bridge. In fact, someone should go to the SS since there is always someone starting there.
Plan to hook up with your folks (end of walking bridge) for the friday ride. PS- Stinky I just finished of my Bday cake so we can stop at DQ if ane ice cream fix is in order
Hey guys, are there any plans for the weekend? Today I did the Jemseg-Gagetown-Loop (120 km): beautifeel !!! (see http://www.bikemap.net/route/1599337)
Hey Mel, shall we watch Ryder Hesjedal winning the Giro d'Italia tomorrow on your big screen? Would be cool, I don't have TV at home. In order to cheer for Ryder I will wear my Maglia Rosa from 2008.
Jorn: Tomorrow, I a going to join Leroy with the Savages Group leaving at 7:30 a.m. from their store (I think). I will be going home afterwards to watch the grand final of the Giro from 10:30 'til 12:30. Why don't you join us?? I am going to suggest riding out to Casey's Diner for coffee and then back, 70 K's beautiful along the river. It is going to be beautiful weather! Anyone else coming?? See you on the road!
Mel, I'm just coming back from a ride and think that I don't ride tomorrow morning. Sunday, 7:30 am; Jesus Christ, what a time for a bike ride is that? Anyway, I'll drop by at 10:30 am at your house to watch the Giro final and to hopefully celebrate the first Canadian who wins a great stage race!
