I did a 130 km ride to the small, nice, and quiet village of Gagetown, which is situated at the meandering estuary of the St. John River. Within a radius of 15 km around the center of the village there are more than 260 various birds! This beautiful green and peaceful region is a wonderful spot for camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and recreation. See http://www.bikemap.net/route/1607224

Head's up - I need to do 140 km on Saturday, leaving early with no real stops (maybe a meal on return to F'ton). Anyone interested?

Leah

Hey Leah
If you wanted to do the Harvey Loop.. I could do that ( it is about 110) I could do that much of the trip with you.
As long as we had an early start

Commuting looks doubtful tomorrow but if it is dry, I'll be on the road at 7:30!

On Saturday, I leave for Ottawa for my daughter's graduation. But I'll be bringing my bike for some rides. In fact, you can join me if you like. I will be biking from F'ton around 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning towards Woodstock on the old Hwy. Marisa will leave around 9:30 in the same direction and pick me up to drive to Quebec City where we spend two days. I'd like some company to see how close to Woodstock we can get. (If a group is doing Harvey, we can ride together to King's Landing). Let me know if you are interested (depends on the weather). Unfortunately, you will have to bike back to F'ton.

Stumpy, Smoothie, What do you think for Sat? I can leave whenever in the AM. Could do Harvey (gasp), but if we do that, I'd rather do Hanwell first to get it done. Or, could do old hwy. to Woodstock.

Harvey from the old highway is not to bad. I have done it a few times, as a note.
Group vote and depending on how many people come out for it.

Leah Levac said...

I'm easily influenced...Let's pick a starting point/time for Sat. AM - Smoothie? Stumpy? Anyone?

Anyone riding tonight at 5:30?

I am going to leave my house at 8:00 then I can swing by SS around 8:10 to see if anyone is there. There is a chance Dan Moore is in too so I said that I would reach his house around 8:15. I'd like some company on this ride if you can make it.

Looks over-cast.. but does anyone wanna go for a light ride tonight?

Mel said...

I went for a bike ride in Montreal. Rest assured that we should be happy to live in Fredericton and ride! Bumpy roads, traffic, noise, it is very difficult. Even on Mount Royal where I climbed up and down the mountain it was not pleasant. I'll be happy to ride in NB again next week!

Very nice 105 km loop for road bikers: Fredericton - Nashwaak Village - Durham Bridge - Taymouth - Nashwaak Bridge - Stanley - Tay Creek - Hamtown Corner - McLeod Hill - Fredericton.

For route information see: http://www.bikemap.net/route/1628945

In the evening there was a beautiful fire-red sunset on the St. John River; the diffuse light was filtered through the rain clouds along the horizon. Excellent spot for watching: the walking bridge in Freddy Beach.

Hey guys,

I would like to join the Freddy Kruezers (Mel, Andrew, and many others) for the MS Bike Ride from Sussex to Saint John to Sussex on June 23, 24. Is there anybody who can give me and my bike a lift from Fredericton to Sussex and back? That would be great, I don't have a car.

Kind regards,
Jörn
