A sweet deal on sweet wheels!

All,

Just what you need to pimp your ride for next spring ... a set of the same hoops that Cadel Evans and BMC rode through le tour in July: a set of 2011 Easton EC90 Aero tubular wheels. At 56mm deep with ceramic bearings (R4SL hubs) and weighing only 1335 grams for the set, they're just the thing to put a Cheshire cat grin on your face and keep you at the front of the peloton through 2011.

I just so happen to have a brand-new set of these wheels - neither tyre nor cassette have adorned them ... but, I must admit, they have been out of the box once - the plastic wrap was left on and no one drooled on them. In light of a forthcoming change in my circumstance, my initial thought of a Cevélo S3 (or R5) to sport these hoops will not be and, sadly, the wheels are destined for a new home.

The rear wheel has the SRAM/Shimano cassette body installed - if your taste is more Italian, a Campy body is available. Easton lists this wheel-set at $2K USD ... you can find the 2009 & 2010 models on E-bay for $1300 - $1400 USD (plus shipping and customs). Before I list these wheels on-line, I'd be open to selling them locally and am asking $1400.00 CAD.

Questions, interest, want to haggle ... drop me a note.

Congrats Omni, how very exciting!

zorro said...

Anyone interested in Sat and/or Sun
afternoon ride, say 100pm from SS?

Donut said...

Hey Zorro,

I'm finishing my nights on Sunday morning. Depending on how Saturday night goes, I'd be interested in a ride Sunday afternoon around that time. I'll let ya know a little later into the weekend. No Hanwell Rd this week though :)

zorro said...

Hey Big D: Sounds good, we can even push back as late as 2pm if that works better. I am thinking around
60k.

NoShoes said...

I am in for 2pm on Sat. and Sun.:O)

Donut said...

Right on Zorro!! That sounds good. See ya Sunday at the SS for 2..

Mel said...

I know I want to ride this weekend and would rather ride with you guys to draft behind than ride on my own. Look for me around 2 PM.

NoShoes said...

Anyone riding Sat. 2 pm??

zorro said...

Count me in Sat 2pm SS.

leah said...

I think I'll be there too!

See you this aft!

leah said...

Hi friends,

Bring an extra sweater if you like (I live right next to SS so we can drop stuff off) and when we're done we can pop into my place for snacks and a drink or a coffee and baileys depending on how cold we are!

NoShoes said...

Zorro and a posse of three desperadoes fighting the winds to the dam. Sailing back was even moore fun!
Thank you all and see you Sunday, same time, same place.

zorro said...

Great Sun. aft. ride: out Royal Road, hamtown, B.C, 104 and 105 Home.
Thanks to Herc. , Smoothie and No Shoes

Mel said...

Another nice fall ride! Thanks everyone!

Herc said...

after 2months of being off the bike, concentrating on the marathon, I was just itching to get out riding and it was just a perfect day to ride. But I sure felt it, good thing you guys took it easy. Thanks guys

rat said...

Itain't over 'til the fat lady sings. Now she may well be in her dressing room but her music ain't been cued. Did a 100k ride. Commuted home with Smoothy, the last of the year.
A big thanks to Smoothy for working in and biking to Oromocto. We, as in all the OSBers, had some awesome commutes. And thanks for all the coffee and muffins and anything else we may have indulged ourselves with on your tab.
Hope to have enuff good weather to hit my next milestone.

Omni said...

I can't believe it ... I missed an entire season of commuting!!

I should have guessed Smoothie would be riding today and headed to Oromocto this afternoon for the ride home. At least I did get out - Turbo, you can add 41km to that meager total I sent you.

Perhaps there is a ride in tomorrow as well.

Mel said...

Rat, thanks for the nice words! It has been a great year for commuting with you and others! Omni, I can't believe you rode out without calling. I left early at 4:00 and Rat and I took the "Long Way" home, it was so nice! There is still a chance for commuting tomorrow but I have to be onsite by 9:00 so will be leaving at 7:30 (sunrise). Email me if interested or come out and pick me up in the afternoon, just call to confirm.

Mel said...

Hey everyone, this weekend is the famous Crabbe Mountain Ski Sale. Plus, they are accepting bikes too!! So, if you either want to sell or buy stuff for the winter or summer, take a look at the poster that I can send you, just send me an email!

Hey Team,

Over the years we have all come to know Smoothie as a class act. I need to share yet another example of why he's a big factor in the esprit d'équipe at OSB.

You may recall {see above}, yesterday I was pining the fact I had missed an entire season of "The Commute". While this likely does not constitute a national crises, those fortunate to have experienced "The Commute" understand the inner unrest missing an entire season could inflict.

Since no one understands the significance of "The Commute" better than Smoothie, after reading my lament, another Commute was laid-on for this morning; providing an opportunity to restore my inner balance. On top of that, he treated to a juice and muffin at the halfway point.

Thanks to Smoothie, I have not missed an "entire" season of "The Commute"!

... oh, Turbo, you can put another 52 kms on my meager mileage tally for 2010.

NoShoes said...

Anyone interested in Sat and/or Sun afternoon ride, say 2pm from SS?

Donut said...

Lazlo, I'm planning to head out Saturday at 11, not sure if thats too early for you or not. I will swing by the SS to see if there are any other takers.

Stinky said...

I am in for 11 as well. NoShoes, try and join us earlier if you are not too tired. Who else can make it? It would be fun to have a large turn out.

herc said...

I am really going to try to be there

Herc said...

that was a wild ride. I arrived at SS, was driving away, along came donut, I said I wasn't going to ride, too windy. driving off along came Dan and Stinky, turned my car around and went back. Can't believe I went, but glad I did. Riding days are numbered. Thanks you guys, couldn't have done it without you.

Stinky said...

Herc, I am so glad that you came with us. Great ride today. Dan and I, and possibly Herc, will be heading out tomorrow at 12:00. Leaving from the SS. Hope to see others out there.

Herc and Bubbles, I left a message with Jane Hadley about skate skiing lessons. Turbo, do you think Darlene would like to try and take lessons?

Herc, my email address is tracy.thibodeau@nbed.nb.ca

herc said...

thanks for doing looking into the ski lessions Skinky, i really appreciate it. I'll email you the info we spoke about. hope to see you tomorrow

Mel said...

Yes, it seems that another season of commuting has come and gone. I, for one, am not ready to see it go but conditions are getting tenuous. You would think that after riding to work three times per week since late April I would be ready for a break but it has become such a part of my day it will be hard to break the routine of getting on the road at 7:30 a.m. to ride to Oromocto. The road is "mine" and I do not tire of the view across the beautiful Saint John River. I want to thank everyone who took the time to ride with me. I likely rode the route with someone more often than riding alone. This year we established a record with 6 OSB riders on one commute, wow, I am impressed. Now I will have to work on getting riders to meet me at 5:00 to ride home, wouldn't that be something! I would like to give many thanks to Rat, my main commuting man. Who else would finish work at 2:00 a.m., sleep 4 hours then meet me at 7:35? What determination! And yes, even with his small stature there is still a remarkable draft in his mighty vortex on the way to work allowing me to arrive to work on time and invigorated! Another thank-you goes out to Omni for his many commutes in the past and his kind words in his previous post referring to how much commuting means to him. Glad to hear you are moving back to Fredericton so you can join me more often next summer. I think almost every OSB rider joined me at least once this summer. Thanks to all of you. It is going to be a long winter. Thank goodness for skiing to keep me busy. Hopefully I will see many of you at Crabbe. It has been a great summer, it has gone by too fast! Thanks and "See you on the road".
Smoothie

Given that cycling season is drawing to a close, it is time to clean up a bit. I subscribe to Bicycling Magazine, Velonews and CycleSport. All offer me interesting reading and permit me to keep up with all the races, trends etc. of cycling all year round. However, my night table is crammed with these magazines! Today is the day to clean them up but they offer a winter's worth of reading to any interested OSB member. Great reading before bed, on the trainer or even in the bathroom! Relive the tour! Stock up your waiting room! (There are no cycling magazines in your waiting room Firebird!) Check out the tech articles! I have an entire years subscription of all of these journals. I would love to give them away. Beautiful pictures with interesting articles! Plus, I deliver! As relevant today as when they came off the press. Let me know and hopefully I will see some of you at noon.

Herc said...

thanks for the ride you guys. even with the snow it was fun.,,are we hardcore or what? good route Smoothie and I'll be in touch when I can come by to pick up those magazines. a good glass of wine is in order, Happy Halloween

Stinky said...

Another cold but great ride today. Herc, Smoothy, Dan and Stinky actually biked in the snow today. If you 3 had not shown up, I would have never went on my own. Good times but I took all afternoon to wam up.

Bubbles, you really need to talk to Herc. She is not resting at all.

turbo said...

sorry I missed out on the last few rides, Great to hear form those who still brave the elements. Plus the GOOD nature on the Blog shows the spirit of OSB.
Stinky, I will ask Darlene about the ski lessons.
tks,

Herc said...

Stinky, you just mind your own business(ha ha)....I am resting tomorrow.

Rattletale said...

Hey Stinky,

Herc didn't rest today. Was out this am with Bubs for an 8 mile run in another snowsquall. Sorry Herc for ratting you out

Stinky said...

Rattletale(very funny):

I don't doubt that Herc did not rest. We may need intervention soon. We will need to appoint an intervention team.

Herc said...

ok ok, I am resting today. Bubbles is out of town I slept in until 6:05 this morning and got up and mediated and read my Bible. So there!!! (except I have core yoga at noon today

Bubbles said...

Here's the thing....Herc will NEVER rest soooo, I have a new plan...hard runs all round. We started this morning with a tempo run and I have much more in store. But as Turbo would say...It's all good.

Rat and I are off to Montreal for the weekend. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to shopping and I think he's looking forward to other stuff...

rat said...

Yeah, good luck with that.

rat(you know, the skinny one) said...

Well time for a rest.
Biked my age today, 51k and that put me over the 11,000k mark.

Herc said...

congrats Rat, that is just something else. Ok OSB with Bubbles away, let's just run and bike all weekend.

Stinky said...

Congratulations Rat. Well done.

Herc, great idea!! You forgot to mention drink wine and eat all weekend as well. We all know how much Bubbles hates to drink wine and eat.

I might be up for a ride on Sunday. I am not sure yet. I will post later.

Stinky, it's giving really good for Sunday, I would love to ride. I'll check the blog. And eating and drinking red wine is just automatically assumed.

Mel said...

Rat:
Great to hear you are still riding. Way to go on a big number!!
The weather looks promising for Sunday morning, I will watch the blog if someone else is riding!

Herc said...

I would love to ride today. I would be able to go around 11;30 or 3ish.

Stinky said...

Herc, 11:30 is too early, but I can go later in the day provided the roads dry up. I will check the blog later.

Mel said...

Radar map says storm is just south of F'ton all day. Hour to hour forecast says showers all day. I say that it will dry out slowly and then it's time to ride. I am not sure I want to wait 'til three. Blog a time and let's get a ride in before too late. Temps will go to 5 degrees. Who is in?

Stinky said...

I am out. It is too wet for me to bike. I think I will run instead. Yuck, I hate running.

Herc said...

I am out as well, lots to do today, I swam this morning, might go for a nice walk in the woods. Enjoy, try next weekend

Mel said...

I am out the door. My bike is dirty anyway.

Donut said...

The weather is looking good for Thursday, planning to ride in the afternoon, sometime around 1:00.

Stinky said...

If anybody is interested, I plan on going for a short ride tomorrow. I will be leaving at 3:30 from work (Nashwaaksis Memorial Elementary). Blog or email me at tracy.thibodeau@nbed.nb.ca if you can join me.

Donut, I may be in for Thursday but that is not confirmed. I will let you know on Thursday morning.

Mel said...

At first I was confused how you can ride on Thursday around 1 but then I remembered that I am not working either, I maybe there!

So, I've attended two spin classes in a row! It is like "tougher" than cycling! My legs are burning! Where do they get these fit instructors???

zorro said...

Hey Big D: I am in for thursday at 1pm, does SS start work?

Donut said...

Starting from the SS it is..

rat said...

I am in for the spin for Nov.11 1pm

turbo said...

Stinky said...

That was a great ride today. It was nice to see everybody out.

Laszlo, Dan and I will be leaving from the SS tomorrow at 3:40 if anybody wants to join us. It is going to be a balmy 10 degrees.

Mel said...

Yes, it was a nice ride today. Thanks everyone for showing up! About tomorrow, some of us have to work! However, the weekend also looks relatively warm and light winds, we should go somewhere for lunch! Keep posting rides... Turbo, we need a new page.

rat said...

Well quite a ride. i think that was the latest in the year we had a hammer component as we were pulled along by our friend Rad Edge Brian who cam upon us at a bathroom break.
I will out for the spin tomorrow
