The weather will be fine, rising by 1 degree per hour. Be home by 1:00 or risk the showers. I'll be there, just name the time, 8 or 9, it doesn't matter.

I just got home from our Monday morning ride, it was great! A bit at a time, I have been talking about a Cancer Ride. If you check the web or a bike magazine, there are lots and lots across the country and the USA. The other week, there was an article in the Gleaner highlighting Monique Mills, from Fredericton, who is participating in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. I thought it would be cool to ride with her through Fredericton. I checked the web and was pleasantly surprised that there is a way to participate with Monique by joining a 100 K ride with her and the whole crew from Woodstock to Fredericton on TUESDAY, June 23rd. I have signed up and so has Leroy. Rat, Darren, Jean Guy, and others are thinking about riding. Firebird and Rocket have endorsed this ride given that this year, OSB has dubbed this the “Year of the Rocket” and I will be dedicating my ride to Suzanne and Sue, thinking about the two of them as I ride the route.
I want you to join me on the ride! How cool would that be to have 5 (or more) OSB riders riding together from Woodstock to Fredericton on June 23rd? I am posting some web addresses for you to check out the ride as well as Monique Mills. Look it over. If you are even thinking of riding, since it is a Tuesday, book the day off work, that is step number 1. Register, look for “Team OSB” and sign up as a member, that is step number 2. Do some fundraising. After all, it is a fundraiser for Cancer for Kids, step number 3. Talk it up amongst our members to join the ride and talk it up amongst others to sponsor us. If you cannot ride yourself then sponsor Team OSB and let’s make our donation count!
If you have some questions, email me. Let’s hope that it is fun, with the sun in our faces and the prevailing wind at our backs! Let’s do our part to help this worthy cause so that cancer research can continue. Thanks for your participation and support.

The Radical Edge and Norm are putting on criteriums and Time Trials on Tuesday nights. They are set up to be "beginner friendly" so that anyone can participate and experience what they are like. I would encourage you all to give it a try and support those putting their efforts into organizing these events. Let's see a good OSB turnout.

Hey Riders!

What are the thoughts on a ride up to Edmunston and back over 4 days? Are people thinking of early July ie the 1st weekend? I am off July 3-5 completely and have to work on the 6th at Midnight so effectively I am off July 6th as well. If people were thinking of a midweek ie July6-10 ride I would need to get the time off which I have a slight chance to do so.

Turbo said...

hey all:
So far to date the thought was, with in the july 1-5 window. still have to work out some details but i booked the 2 and 3 off, so game for the adventure. If others could post if interested and we can plan a meeting.
Great ride tonight, Zipp pa de du da.

Rat said...

Certaintly for me the weekend would be good. If people head out on the 2nd I would have to drive up and meet at the first stop and ride for 3 days and do extra and I then wouldn't have to take anytime off.

I'm planning to do as much touring as I can weekend of Aug 15th. I have mon and tues off as well. Hiking Mt. Carelton with Erin and Ringo on the Sat, so going to try and arrange to ride there probably the day before and then continue riding the day after.

Had and interesting experience. travelling (vehicle) from mactaquac to town (this morning). Near Island View, i came upon a backlog of 6 Cars I'm the 7th. Reason, 2 road cyclist riding 2 abreast on both sides of the white line. With oncoming traffic vehicles were upable to pass. There was PLENTY of room on shoulder side of white line, with clean pavement to cycle, and no reason not to be single file.
As i drove past i looked and recongised the cyclist. (not newbies)
Anyway it was and very thought provoking, thinking of how we cyclist ache about the motorist! but this event gave me true sense of the other perspective.
RIDE SMART

Which direction is the ride going from SS Complex?
I work midnight shifttonight. If you head to New Maryland I will pick you up as you ride by my place. If you head out to Lincoln and back thru New Maryland I'll ridethe opposite direction and meet up with you wherever that may beAm I to assume that you are coming across the Nevres Rd and not the Wasis to head out the Whittaker Rd.?

headed up York and through NM,

Just got back from Woolastook. The course for the MTB race tomorrow is already marked and cleaned. It's super fast and alot of fun. My training wheels are barely off my bike and I'm able to do it, so it's open to all skill levels. 5hrs, but I'm teaming up and alternating like every lap. Reg is like 8:30-9 and race starts at 10. Hope to see some OSBers out.

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
