I will be out more often !! That would be great if you strong guy's would loop back every once and awhile for this old SLOW guy.
Great ride tonight, but with a brutal wind. It seemed to be in our faces the whole way around. What if we would have went in the other direction? I'm just sayin..
Tonight's ride was to illustrate what friends are for. Friends are to let you draft behind in a wind like we had. If we can ride in that kind of wind, we can do anything! Thanks for the ride (and waiting).

Monday ride, thanks for the team work guys. good effort. Had 73KM and by all account only 5km was tailwind. Brutally Great. Hope I didn't ruin the Aliant affair.

Does anyone have a bike tray that will fit on a Thule rack? I know some trays fit bot round and square bars. I would like to borrow one for the weekend.

NANTES, France (Reuters) - Close to 200 prisoners will cycle around France next month, watched by scores of guards on bicycles, in the first penal version of the Tour de France, authorities said Monday.
The 196 prisoners will cycle in a pack and breakaway sprints will not be allowed. They will be accompanied by 124 guards and prison sports instructors. There will be no ranking, the idea being to foster values like teamwork and effort.
"It's a kind of escape for us, a chance to break away from the daily reality of prison," said Daniel, a 48-year-old prisoner in the western city of Nantes, at the official launch of the event. His last name was not given.
"If we behave well, we might be able to get released earlier, on probation," he told reporters.
The prisoners' Tour de France will take them 2,300 km (1,400 miles) around the country, starting in the northern city of Lille on June 4 and stopping in 17 towns, each of which has a prison. However, participants will sleep in hotels.
The finish line will be in Paris, following Tour de France tradition.
"This project aims to help these men reintegrate into society by fostering values like effort, teamwork and self-esteem," said Sylvie Marion of the prison authorities.
"We want to show them that with some training, you can achieve your goals and start a new life," she said.
Thanks to everyone who signed up for the ride along event from Woodstock to Fredericton in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride!! Cancers that affect children is chronically underfunded and I truly believe we are making a difference in the lives of kids and families affected by cancer by participating in this event. As a national rider, I will be leaving on June 13 from Vancouver to cross this wonderful country. I really look forward to meeting with your group in Woodstock. Meanwhile, between work, training, fundraising and moving, I don't have very much time on my hands but I would love to join up with your group this Sunday June 1st for a morning ride. On Saturday, I have 2 fundraising activities going on at the same time. By participating in this event as a National Rider, I am committed to raise $25,000 and I am still quite far from my goal. So, on Saturday, I will be holding a BBQ at Sears and another at the New Maryland baseball fields for a ball tournament organized by the RCMP. Feel free to drop by and say hi. All the proceeds from the BBQs will go to the cause. You can see by the Blog entry above that Monique Mills is aware of our group who will cycle with her from Woodstock to F'ton on June 23rd. I spoke with her today and invited her along on a ride for this SUNDAY leaving the SS Complex at 9:00 a.m. All OSB members are encouraged to ride and of course, in particular those who will be riding with her on June 23rd. Unfortunately, I will be in Nova Scotia on this weekend so I will not be there, I will try to ride with Monique on another occaision before she departs for the beginning of her Cross Canada Ride. The route can be determined at the beginning of the ride, Monique has to be back by 12:00 for more fund raising. Jamie Jones has signed up to ride with us on June 23. Now we are really 7 riders. I had originally announced 7 but I had counted incorrectly, welcome Jamie!
Four brave souls (Jason, Mayo, Brian, and Cookie) took a chance on the weather last night and got most of the way home before the rain started. Mental note: The climb on Killarney Road is a LOT longer and harder with a headwind.
Monique Mills has a fundraising committment this morning, so can't ride but plans to drop the at the SS to introduce herself. Route is open for discussion.
Beautiful ride this morning with Cookie, Jamie, Turbo, Firebird and Zorro. Out Hanwell to Hunter Rd and back the old TCH (nice route for the first REAL ride of the year!). Thanks for taking it easy on me. I love OSB.
