Pretty lonely at the TOP. Steeler's Rule.Who would have known we'd invite a room full of Arizona fans over for Super Bowl gathering. Close game had to wait till the final buzzer to break out the Jacket. thanks to the OSBer's who shared in my Victory.
Thanks to Darlene and Turbo for a great Super Bowl event. Was the lure of the left overs too much to handle Leroy? Where were ya at ski lessons tonight?
Woody, doing Squats at the Group spin hosted by the Rad Edge in New Maryland. I missed it due to flu, but was supper impressed by the headband in the photos! I'd rather be skate skiing...
Turb, I'm up for an early morning ski. I'm oncall though, so I have to do loops. Can't be any more than 15 mins from the van. I'm prepared to go solo, as I realize this option sucks!

When I travel, one of the things I like most about owning Cyclo-CLUB is that I have riding friends everywhere I go.
When I go somewhere, I log into the CLUB ( http://cyclo-club.com) query for that location and contact a friend to "hook up".
Kate Johnson, (aka TiGirl) is one of our very active Cyclo-CLUB Members and lives here on Oahu with her family.
Yesterday, Kate offered to take her day and come pick me up (30 min) and drive me to Honolulu to pick up a bike that she worked to get me over the past 2 wks.
Cervelo Soloist Team (review coming;)
Then, TiGirl brought me 30 minutes over to the airport, waited while I got my car and then waited in line to get out and then lead me back home to Kailua. (30 min)
By the way, she is also a dedicated cycling instructor and group coach here on the island for beginners and above.
Why is this a BIG DEAL and what does it have to do with cycling?
THREE REASONS...
1. We're all connected by cycling, regardless of age, fitness, bike color, or creed. TiGirl demo's the true essence of this in "Aloha".
2. Without friends, cycling would be just another exercise session. Cycling allows us to BIND, LOVE, AND SHARE. "Aloha"
3. Lastly, cycling friendships are the things any of us would miss most if we could no longer ride--at least I know I would!
You on a bike is something special.
Something that connects you to others, even if you didn't know them until you were on the back of their wheel flying down a hill at 40mph.
Thank you TiGirl. You have reminded me of this simple, yet powerful benefit of the bike.
For persons interested in Riding with OSB, leave your contact infomation on the blog and we can keep you in the loop when the outdoor season begins. If it ever stops snowing :-)
Message from Firebird, he's at the Tour De California. He replied on not making it to GOP this week

I saw Levi, et al, Floyd, Gorgie Hincapi, boonen, Mancebo, Basso, ....actually all of them. Tomorrow we are heading to the arrival of stage 3 then 4 on wednesday. This should motivete me to get back into some training...haven't touched anything since September. Catch U later. Firebird Also talked to Cris Carmicheal...was telling him about GOP in minus 20 degree weather ;-) He thought is was so cool. See U next week.
Hmmm ... isn't Firebird at the Tour de California??
Armstrong’s Time-Trial Bike Stolen Lance Armstrong posted on his Twitter account this morning that his Livestrong time-trial bike has been stolen, along with three other bikes from the Astana team truck.
“There is only one like it in the world therefore hard to pawn it off,” he wrote.
Michael Zellmann, SRAM’s road PR manager, confirmed the thefts. “Four bikes were stolen this morning, including Lance’s time-trial bike, Yaroslav Popovych’s race bike and two other Astana team bikes.” Trek’s Dean Gore said three 56-centimeter bikes were missing, with the other two belonging to Janez Brajkovic and Steve Morabito.
Armstrong’s time-trial bike included prototype SRAM parts including the SRM wireless power meter, which only Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer are using at the Tour of California. Additionally, the time-trial bike had prototype Return to Center time-trial shifters.
Gore said that if Armstrong’s Livestrong time-trial bike is not recovered by the Solvang time-trial on February 20, another will be ready for him to race on.
Armstrong’s teammate Chechu Rubiera addressed the missing bikes when we spoke with him prior to stage one of the race.
Date Posted: Feb 18, 09 PM Between the forecast weather and the work schedule of the grooming crew, our current plan is to groom the woodlot first thing Saturday morning. Skaters, please help us make this grooming job a good one by planning your skiing for after lunch - that will give the surface a chance to set up. The classic track will be ready to ski on as soon as we set it, which should be by mid-morning. Classic skiers, if you come out early please do not ski on the new skate surface; if the classic track hasn't been set please stay in the deeper snow - I know it's a slog, but we'll be along soon to set the classic track.
Well after slacking off for 7 days on the beautiful beaches of Varadero, I'm ready to bunker down in prep for NC in 1 month. Erin and I managed to find some old rusted fixed gear bikes and toured for a couple of hours, but nothing too serious. I did make it out for 4 10k+ morning runs. A great way to see the town off the resort. Putting on my layers for each workout was quite simple as well. Usually it was just socks, sneakers, shorts and sunglasses in the constant 28 degree weather. Running ended up being a great way to limit the damage from the buffets and Cuban rum.
On a couple of occasions I seen a pack of roadies on the main st. in town. As many as 3 together at once. A mix of a couple of locals and at least one tourista. There was plenty of room on the main street in town to bike but the highways had no shoulder. The pave was surprisingly smooth and the vehicles gave plenty of room for cyclists (99% of which were on old clunkers and going about 10km/h). The next time we go, I'm definetly looking into shipping a road bike with me.
