Hey Leroy,

One of my coworkers sent out the following email to City staff. Can you please forward to the OSB crowd. If we work together, we can address potholes now and help our Roads & Streets Division deliver the best service they can.

Please identify only potholes located within City limits!

Cheers! Kathy

Hi Folks,
It’s that time of year when thoughts go to the winter and winter work. Much effort has been spent on maintenance of the streets this summer and, as usual, the goal is to minimize the development of potholes through the winter months with our summer maintenance work. While I am confident that most of the main streets (arterials and collectors) have received enough attention to minimize pothole development, many local streets have not been given a look by the patching crews because of the time required on main’s and asphalt reinstatement projects.

Having said all this, I would appreciate any help that may be forthcoming in the identification of potholes and water infiltration on the local streets. If you know of a pothole on your street, or any street, please forward the location to Public Works Dispatch or to me directly so that the crews can do the necessary repairs before winter. I will be continuing to tour all streets in the City as well, but any help from anyone is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Yah, I'm with Smoothie; had a 2pm meeting, not much I could do. Plus, I've been sick for 2 weeks with this damn cold and am weak as a kitten. I'd consider riding to the Bucket Club and back my own personal TdF right now.

Great Hookie day, The route certainly made us earn the feast.
As per usual Omaha out did herself, with the autumn harvest, pure earthy beverages with a grand array of home baked treats that only an appetite could capture. with my personal favorite of pre-buttered cinnamon bread, and cookies that melt in your mouth before you have a chance to chew.
Thanks Cookie for a pulling together a great route and championship pit stop.
Good company better, dayz ahead

Is anyone up for MTB ride this weekend?

I just got back from my ride. Coffee at Burt's Corner is not the same without you guys! Too full after all those cookies? I was thinking about stopping in at the Versloot's and asking for left overs! However, upon leaving the coffee shop at Burt's Corner, I noticed my saddle bag with extra tire, inflator, etc was gone, I must have lost it on the ride. As much as I would rather ride a loop than out and back, I decided to return via the road I came so began riding up the hill towards Stanley and the Royal Road looking towards the left side of the road. It is a kind of a distracting thing to do. It could also have been dropped in my garage. Well, there is a God, 4 k's up the road on the shoulder sat my bag! Cool! Not a big deal but I'm happy, hate losing things. Moral of the story, never store your gold Rolex in your saddle bag for safe keeping!!

Hey Mooz,

I'd be interested in a MTB ride later today after it warms up a little. I have to warn you though, that I am pretty slow.

For anyone who likes to mountain bike, I would recommend that you try the Heritage Nordic Center in Presque Isle, ME. I was there yesterday with Adam and Nick Russon. The trails are awesome! Many of them are machine made and not very technical, but the are very fast and flowy. Well worth the trip.

Oh yeah, if you see a Garmin Forerunner 301 on the trails, it's mine!
