You may like to hear/watch this talk by Dylan Casey about his experiences in bike racing. It is long, just listen while you're on the computer. He is very articulate and interesting insights into top level bike racing.

Hey Turbo,

I am around for a spin Friday am.
Name the time and locationand I'll be there. I know Smoothy would like it if we could combine it with a commute which leaves from the Ramamda Irviing at 0745 which means leaving home at 0715 at the latest.

Rocket and I are doing Silverwood this weekend. I asked her to take it easy on me, so it will be a very relaxed ride.

Anyone interested in joining us for a slow soulful ride in the wood?

Hey Turbo, where do you want to leave from nd how far? I can meet at your place and go from there. Perhaps head an out and back heading upi river to pokiok and turn. its good if there s a west wind. We can play it by ear.

Smoothy, I am working tonight and have some early morning things to do so cant commute.

Rat I'll be ready to roll at 10, will meet at Turboville. you can determine the route. Nothing too gianormous.

Since it seems everyone else is goofing off today, Adam and Cookie are meeting at the trails in island view for an MTB ride today at 2:00. Any more takers?

Mooz: Can you get the afternoon off to try out that new sweet ride?

Lance Armstrong rides cyclocross (at the coolest race there is - Crossvegas)! After crashing and finishing mid-pack he said he has new respect for how fast the best can go.
It is the fastest growing cycling sport in North America for good reason.
Oh, and NoDoubt: I still have your award for THIRD PLACE OVERALL elite men 2007. When can it be presented?

Well after selling the old car, my current MTB, emptying the piggy bank, and working some OT, I was finally able to scrounge up enough dough to buy a decent MTB. It's great to have my priorities in order :P.

Well done NoDoubt! Were to meet for the 2:00 Mtn Bike ride? Rocket and I will start out with you.

What is NOSB?

Anonymous said...

NO Speed Bitchin

Anonymous said...

NO "Speed Bitchin"??????? Sadly, you're not getting it.

Anonymous said...

Wow. This is not the OSB I joined 4 years ago.
I guess if you can't keep up to the fastest OLD Scarred cyclists in town then you should stop bitching about the speed and leave.

My membership dues were good though weren't they?

OK.

OSB Kit (s) for sale and going cheap.

No shorts (that would be too Evil)

Come and get them.

I've got:
The old blue shirt medium
Two maroon and white shirts medium
One red and white shirt medium

Two pair of OSB socks.

Make me an offer. alangille0517@rogers.com

Can someone answer a few questions I have:
Is this bike club being disbanded?
Should we continue with the kit order that King worked so hard to prepare?
Should sponsors continue to write cheques to OSB if the club is in fact to be no more?

Just to be clear, the side bar group of OSB'ers that jokingly call ourselves Team Evil are still OSB all the way. All of us ordered a full OSB kit and some of us are long time cash sponsors of club. We still believe in OSB, but just want to ride a different kind of ride. Don't read too much into it. OSB executive, show some leadership please.

Jokingly call myself NOSB. seems the mirror doesn't work both ways...

Turbo:
Foot from Mouth removal instructions can be found at:

www.teamevilfredericton.com

ALL are welcome, except for that Pinky fella. Who would by a shirt from that guy!?!?

Anonymous said...

Agreed Trubo, we all need to lighten up, I like you mirror analogy with the additional observation that it is more like the mirrors in the "Funny House" at the Exhibition where we all look distorted.

On a lighter note, some of us are planning a winter get away ride week in the Las Vegas area. Those interested should e-mail me at
mike@atlanticchip.ca for updates. So far there are about 6 of us going. Date and exact itinerary to be decided by input from those going. Turbo can you e-mail this out to the group please.

Well said Scar and Turbo. Lets not take the blog so seriously. Eeeeeeeeasy fellas.

Anonymous said...

Scar, I honestly was pleased to read your email about OSB/Team Evil. I must say that I had never interpreted the Team Evil development as joking or part of OSB. To be brutally truthful(and not angry) the optics for me were that it was formed to eliminate a number of us from a core group of "founding" members who wanted to ride together (and yes, at a pace determined by them). And to use Rocket's words... I'm not getting it either. I obviously missed something along the way. I do know this though, I certainly hate to see people at odds on the blog and about a sport that for the most part, keeps all of us, who are on the edge of insanity, sane:) For me, the conflict was disturbing enough that I chose to hang up the bike for the season. I'm glad I have the option of running. There is an OSB Exec meeting scheduled, I hope we can pull together and sort this all out.
