For those of you who may be interested, Herc and I are going to Odell park on Sunday for the Wostawea open house. We will be there at 2:00.

Herc, Bubbles and I are signing up for skate ski lessons if others want to join us. It would be fun to have fellow OSB'ers join us.

WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED .....

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

Send this to the women who can handle it and to the men who will enjoy reading it

hey all!
No GOP sad to hear.
However, from time to time I amy open up my garage/basement for a spin. The Edge will be having spin classes as Turbo alluded to so check that out.
Finally, with nightlites and with many of our brothers/sisters bikers also x-c ski, we can do group skis and socials.

Soooooo, keep checking the blog and keep blogging your outings/spinning plans.

For those of you OSBer's looking for that perfect Xmas gift as well as better vision, I would like to let you all know that our office is now an authorized Oakley Prescription Eyewear Dealer. We have dress Oakley's and can also supply most Oakley Sunglass models in prescription form (available at Radical Edge in non-prescription form). I just thought you would like to know. Great for skiing as well!

See you at a spin class!

Hey OSB'ers.

It's December, but don't stop now!

I did a nice 100 km ride along the St. John River today.

Route info see: http://www.bikemap.net/route/774065

Weather was sunny and roads dry.

I would be glad if I can join a group for the next ride.

Best wishes, Joern

Joern: you nordic soul! I would suggest that most group rides are on hold until spring. but if by chance someone ventures out on a mild winter day. they could post for interest. alot of us are doing indoor spin class's while waiting for enuff snow to ski. will keep the blog updated with any happenings. cheers.
You can email myelf at

As I look at the list of road closures in the area, I shudder to think what has become of our favorite routes and how many weeks it will take DOT to repair them all in the spring. The list actually reads like an OSB Route Map!

Sorry, I didn't add to the OSB KM's challenge. I see Stinky had 4000 listed, so I'm happy to report that I crested over 4,000 this morning...including my Mtn Bike commute mileage of course!

Bubbles said...

Yeah, well Cookie, I was going to vote for you but then I saw the first criterion related to actually riding your bike.

Stinky said...

Good job on clocking in over 4000 Jazz. Way to go. By the way, those oranges are delicious.

Bubbles, I agree with your comment regarding Cookie. He needs to get out with us more often next year.

I don't know about you guys, but I am pumped to see that we are finally getting snow next week. Lets keep our fingers crossed. My new skate ski boots should be in next week. What a great Christmas present from Santa.

Word has it there is in new sheriff in town in New Maryland. On a recent early morning "fun run", Adam reportedly made Bubbles throw up in her mouth. We assume this was from the hard pace he was setting.

Now Now, Children lets play nice...
On the other hand, thanks for the entertainment. Will await the specific's when in person.
Our Grandcat "LilY" arrived today with Cody and Sarah. Nice to start the Xmas season early.
PS- The OSB Plaque is at the pirnt shop now. The winner is ???.

Hey OSB'ers, don't think too much about cross country skiing, but just jump on your bikes ;-)!
I did a 100 km ride to Coytown along the St. John River today. What a beautiful day for road biking! Sunny weather, dry roads and a fantastic view over the river.
Route info see: http://www.bikemap.net/route/777218
Hope that someone joins me for the next ride.
Best wishes, Joern
