AUSTIN, Texas - American cyclist Lance Armstrong is recovering from surgery on his broken collarbone.

His surgeon says Armstrong's collarbone was broken in four pieces, making the operation more challenging. Dr. Doug Elenz inserted a steel plate and 12 screws to stabilize the collarbone.

Elenz says the 37-year-old cyclist was in surgery for about three hours Wednesday and must take a few days off before he can resume training on a stationary bike.

Armstong has said he still hopes to ride in the Giro d'Italia in May and the Tour de France in July.

I wonder if dope can help him now?

Anonymous said...

Ya, the legal stuff that everyone takes when they have surgery.
Riding for a higher cause... that's something no whiny Spaniard or stuck-up Euro-trash can pay for.

Why do the doubters always post anonymously?

I'm in for a ride tomorrow. Does 5:30 work? Let me know where we're meeting.

Good and Safe riding to all the Carolina Crew. Bring back tails and pics of the epic rides.
enjoy the journey

That would be tales, whatever tail you get can stay in the US

Looks like I over committed myself tonight. Apparently my dad's 60th birthday is "more important" than going for a ride this evening, so unfortunately, I'm out.

Maybe this weekend?

Hey dudes, just checking in from Asheville. Eatin a pancake and watching the skis clear. Been a good week so far. We got one group run in (11k) before the ride on day 2 in Boone. Mike D, Evan P, Dave (Ont.) and moi. We seem to consistently be staying over 130kms and 10000ft of climbing every day. Same house here on top of the hill as last year. Awesome place and alot of good personalities that mesh well. I think we're actually heading Brevard way to climb Mt. Pisgah today before heading back on the flats. Got some compliments on the new OSB kit. Fits good! Well back to my pancakes :).

Geesh, Turbo. 50 k on her first time out?? Take it easy!

Good job Yogi. Have you got some outfits to match your new bike? Remember... it's more important to look good than to be fast. (At least that's what Bubbles says)

Hi All,

I was just down at the Radical Edge and Brian has extended an invitation to anyone interested to drop by the shop Sunday morning to watch Tour of Flanders. He said he would be down there by 10. The race coverage runs on cyclingtv from 7:40 to 11:40. This will be lower key than the Paris-Roubaix event (no waffles) but if anyone wants to bring frites and mayo and or belgian beer you won't be turned away.

Cheers,

Woody

Hey McCain Get down to the Edge and pick up that Steed. They're having to keep Security in the store overnight. WOW! almost have to put a bikini on those curves.
