Zorro & I are thinking of you and sending you oodles of positive energy and strength. Know that you are strong and loved and that no matter what adversity strikes, you have friends who support you.
Hey Sue, I got you a bottle of wine on Friday night and since you could not make it I drank it for you....hope you don't mind. Keep smiling like I know you will. We are all pulling for you.
Hey Sue, Cam, Lis, Gabby, Jake the dog and Kipper the cat sending you all their positive Mojo. All the best from the basement trolls at Radical as well.
I've been talking to Sue and with her blessing I will share the following information. Evidently, Sue cannot access the internet while in hospital, so I read to her all of the well wishes, she thanks you and is optimally encouraged. She is feeling much better today since her fever broke. Sue welcomes a call and her number in her room is 506-648-8787. Although she cannot have flowers directly in her room, she can see them at the nurses' station and likes the fact that more people can enjoy them. It is expected that she will be allowed to come home on Friday after the last radiation treatment. Once home she will have a house full of family ,as her brother arrives from Toronto and the kids come back from their trip for March break. I am guessing food would be welcomed. I am traveling to see her on Wednesday her request is DVD's as they can watch movies.
Sue: Marisa and I are thinking of you often and send positive energy your way!! Let's ride the Cabot Trail again together when you are able!! We are all with you in your fight!! Mel/Smoothie
Brilliant recovery Sue, so glad you are heading home from hospital. Be sure to take it easy, rest, recover build your strength so visitors can come see you later next the week! Why not share some of your favorite recipes so some of us can test our kitchen skills and make them for you. Drive safely, hugs from Steve and Elizabeth Licks from Luna, Belle and Bruin
Rocket & Suds, You can beat this thing, don't let it run you. Sure there will be some challenges, but they define us and shape us. You guys are so strong, remember, attitude is more important than facts.
Sue, Rod and family- Just want to say-stay confident, look at this as another time trial-a challenge both mental and physical that is conquered with lots of positive energy. We miss your smiles and can't wait to see them again soon. Your friends Mike D, Mary and family - sending mucho positive energy be strong - "livestrong"
Hi Everybody! It's been so helpful to me this past week hearing your comments on the blog. It was a rough week in hospital, though each day I felt stronger (just ask Suds who I made take the outside lane with my i.v. pole how fast we took the corners doing laps around the ward). Radiation to my neck is done. Now for some healing, rest, recovery. I love the pictures of the Canterbury ride above. Food would always be much appreciated. Mostly I'd just like to see everybody - the food is a bonus. Now more than ever, I LIVESTRONG.
We send our love and support for you Sue. You said it, now more than ever Livestong! We will be sure to bring some healthy snacks to you:) Love the McKeowns!
Great GOP tonight, Mental toughness! not to be confused with Mental advantage... 90 min of hurt McCain challenged No Doubt for Puddle power. Shop vaccing for offical results.
Sorry for our tardiness but just wanted you to know that you're always present in our daily thoughts here in the ever-insane Staeben household.
I keep thinking about our brief conversation on the street right after Suzanne's funeral and am left unbelieving that you face this challenge yet again.
It's pretty damn clear though that you won't be facing it alone as nothing makes this group of friends work harder than climbing a good-sized hill together.
Keep your spirits as high as possible and, when times are tougher, just think of all the great OSB stories you've been a part of and the others you've enjoyed along the way! (you know, the one about Leroy and his massive cramp in the Carolina's, writhing on the ground..that's a classic! Sorry to bring that up yet again, Leroy)
So, keep those pedals spinning, teammate, and know that we're always here to provide a draft when you need it and are ready to move left again soon, so you can take the lead!
No need to go all the way to SC for humour, a mere spin back to memory lane in Douglas would surely bring a smile back to 3 or at least 2 faces. The DID ride? Great to see banter is alive and well :-) Keep soaring Rocket, we'll co-pilot the journey.
Sue, Normelly is also thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way. I'm not sure how much you're out and about now, but if you're in a lot and still interested in DVDs, we have a few Tour de France videos, 5 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Exorcist. hahaha, I'm not kidding. No doubt each is inspirational in its own way.
Gentlemen, really, it's OK. Douglas is never far from my mind as well.
The fact that it took two semi-strong riders like yourselves working together to trick me into getting dropped has always been somewhat of a source of pride for me.
Fear not, old friends, it won't be long now before you'll be watching my spandexed rear end again soon.
These are truly beautiful pictures. We have been away from the blog for a week or so but you haven't been far from our thoughts. We're thinking of you and pulling for you.
Just to get all your motors' running, it was 3 years ago tonight that we had our first ride of 2006! I'm sure the earliest start to the year ever.
It was also my first ride with OSB (yes, I know many of you are saying "darn, I wish Pinky and Scar had left Ringo's early that night"...but alas, they didn't and boy it was a very cold, wonderful and most memorable ride..)
It was the start of something awfully meaningful for me - the beauty and challenge of cycling and getting to be a part of this club.
Usually Mon and Thurs 6pm. There is a weekly email circulated for the GOP If you wish to get you name added just let me know email rudi3@rogers.com and it will be done.
Way to go Rocket! Good to see you got your bike set up. Keep spinning. Before you know it, you'll be back on that super fast Cervelo of yours, kicking everyone's butts once again :).
Awesome weather last night. That's 2 days in a row outside! I have to say, it was hard to get out there because I was worried about getting the bike dirty, but it cleaned up nice with the garden hose when I got home :P.
I heard Brian say he might try and get a ride together from the shop on Sunday. If anyone's interested, check the shop's facebook page or swing by and ask Brian in person.
