Hey something to think about in the offseason:

Early in '09 for some good foundation miles at the start of the season, I'd like to do a 4 day "tour" around NB. I don't know exact details, but a rough idea would be to get dropped off early one morning in Edmunston, bike 250km to Bathurst in 1 day and stay at a hotel. Day 2 would be 200km to Moncton and would stay the night with my parents. Day 3 would be Moncton to Fred (180km) and would stay at home the night and then the final day would be to edmunston (300km) and get picked up by car upon arrival. If anyone's interested in doing any or all legs of such a trip, or has suggestions on scenic routes along the way or knows of a free place to stay in Bathurst and/or Edmunston let me know.

The idea would be to have an unsupported ride and only have to carry our repair kits and food for each day. We could mail clothes to our hotel in Bathurst and I could drop clothes off at my parents ahead of time as well. The driving to Edmunston is only to save on having to spend the night there, but we could also leave the first day from Fredericton.

Just a thought. I obviously miss the road bike way too much already!

Arghhh! Ouch!!! I started to cramp up just reading about the distances of Adam's Tour de NB.

Anonymous said...

Best of luck with that Adam.

Anonymous said...

Geez Cookie, your not in for Adam's ride? I can only think of one other potential partner to join you on a ride this ridiculous Adam....I'll leave the guessing to you.

Haha, hearing comments like these from the non-cycling community is quite common and I usually don't think twice about it, but hearing this from the craziest bunch of cyclists out there, makes me think that I'm on to something :).

hey adam:
we should sit down and talk, i'm very interested in doing a NB tour.
Definately have to discuss some of your details, but safe to say, I've got the Northern part of the province covered for accomodations.
and know the best route up there.
Great to have something to look forward to.

Hey Adam! Gotta love that enthusiasm. I'm definitely glad to getting a little couch time right now but give me heads up on your plans and try to arrange to do a couple of legs with you. Cheers!

Team OSB and this blog, was, is and will continue to be about the positive. We all face enough challenges in life that we don’t need more negative seeping into our souls. For anyone who chooses or is drawn to the dark side. We hope you find the strength and persevere to find your happiness.
Misery may like company… But company don’t like misery.
